When we were back. We ordered sushi. After dinner, John went to sleep but I was still wide awake. Reema came to talk with me. I was sitting in the kitchen.
"Why are you not sleeping yet? You looked tired, go have some sleep." She said sitting beside me.
"I just couldn't sleep. I'll go after some time. Why are you not sleeping yet?" I asked her.
"I wanted to ask you if you are okay. You were behaving weirdly ever since we're back. Tell me the reason." she said.
"I don't know, I just felt very restless when I saw Ren. I can stop thinking about him." I confessed.
"He is adorable. But I really feel bad for him. I wish a good adopt him so he can live the life he deserves. Every one of them deserves a better life. A life with their parents." Something struck inside me when she said that.
"Can't I and John adopt him? I can't stop thinking about him." I asked her.
"Have you talked about this with John?" She asked.
"No, I thought about it just now."
"You sure?"
"Yes."
"Okay, then you talk with John first. Then I'll talk with Ms. Yamazaki if John agrees. Now go and sleep." I came back to my room after the conversation. Weirdly I felt sleepy.
The next morning I and Reema talked with John about the adoption. Surprisingly he had similar thoughts. So he agreed soon.
After the discussion, Reema called ms Yamazaki to talk about the adoption. She told us to come and visit.

"Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Salvatore and ms. Reema, I was waiting for you all since the morning after you called. Sensei told me about your plans. You want to adopt Ren she said." Ms. Yamazaki greeted.
"Yes, ms Yamazaki. Actually we are in Japan to recuperate from a very unfortunate accident that has happened to us. We lost our child in the last trimester of pregnancy. But when I saw Ren, I felt like having him by my side. His eyes looked like he wants someone to give him a home. We want to be that someone. Can you make it happen?" I requested her, while John was holding my hand to give me support to open up my heart.
"Okay, if you want to adopt him, I'll start the process. For that, I'll need some documents from you. But I must tell you, Mrs. Salvatore, I will take quite a time to process this. It will need immigration approvals. How long is your trip gonna be?"
"We planned for two weeks but we can extend if we have to for Ren," John said.
"I'll need your proof of your residence, occupation, and also a copy of your passports. What do you do?" She asked.
"Well, I own a real estate company. And Mary is my partner and consultant in the business." John explained.
"Okay then please submit the documents needed till tomorrow. I'll start the process as soon as I have them." Ms. Yamazaki said.
"Ms. Yamazaki, before we go can we see Ren once, if you don't mind," I said.
"Yeah sure, this way." She approved showing us the way to Ren. We followed her to a room. It had a few beds but there was no one else then Ren. He was sleeping in a cradle.
"Kids must be in school", Reema commented.
"Yes, everyone accepts Ren are old enough for school. So when they go to school Ren gets really bored. So he sleeps so he can play with them when they're back. I must tell you, they'll be very sad when they find out that Ren will leave this home." Ms. Yamazaki said with a hint of sadness in her voice.
"I promise you to miss Yamazaki we will visit here every year. He will know about his friends here." I said.
