"Doctor please save my wife I can't those her too." He said helplessly. "Nurse help Mr. Salvatore to fill out the form." He said to the nurse. "Sir please stay calm. We'll prepare for the surgery." The doctor consoles and left the helpless man alone to curse his fate. After 10 days "Mary, tell me what's going on in your mind? What are you thinking? You know you can share it with me." Judy my counselor and friend said. The hospital suggested me to get some healing therapy. And she was good at it. She was one of the popular psychiatrists in the city. "I don't know Judy. I feel like I am alone somewhere even being with John can't fill the void that I'm feeling now. I think there is something really wrong with me. My mind always wanders to that staircase that day. I always wish and thought what would it be like if I haven't walked near it. Maybe my son would still be alive. Maybe Michael would still be alive" I couldn't control and started crying my heart out. "Mary I think you need some time off of the place. Go somewhere, where it is quite. Away from city life. It will make you calm. I'll write you a prescription take it and you'll surely feel good once you're back." "Thank Judy. I'll talk to John about it." Okay, this is your meds. Take them on time. "Yeah sure, thanks. Bye". I said and went back home. The home when my son died. And it was all my fault. The phone was ringing and I ran to get the call. But I slipped I called for John but he wasn't in the house. I fell there unconscious. And when I gained my consciousness everything was lost, destroyed. Nothing remained the same in my life. I lost a piece of myself that day. I don't think I can ever recover from it. "Mary I'm home. How was your session today? How do feel?" John asked kissing me. "I don't know John, I still feel restless. Just suggested for us to travel somewhere. It can distract us from all that's happening with us. I think I need it too. There is somewhere I want to escape too." I told John. "I know you've suffered a lot. And believe me, I did too. I can do anything to make you feel better. Tell me where you wanna go. I'll arrange it." John comforted me. "I want to visit a friend of mine in Japan. She is volunteering there. She is closest to me. I talked to her today and she told me that we can visit her there. Japan is a very calm city for us right now. So do you agree?" I asked John. "Yeah, anything you want. I'll arrange for it. You take some rest." Here we are in Osaka, Japan. My friend Reema, she volunteers as a doctor here. She is a child specialist. She is coming to get us from the airport. She is living here for the past two years. She asked me many times to visit her in Japan. But we both got busy with our work, that it never happened. But I am here finally and Reema is late. We landed and she is nowhere to be seen. She must be on her way here. "Hey, Mary! Long time huh. How are you?" She said and hugged me. "Hey, John how are you?" She said and hugged John too. "I'm good." We both replied. "Come I'll take you to my house." She said. "Okay let's go". She took us to her house. Which was a Japanese style house? She lives on the outskirts of the city. It was a quiet place. "So this your room. Freshen up I'll cook something for you guys. Rest a little you must be jet-lagged." She said and showed us our room. "John you Go freshen up first, I'll pick your clothes for you," I said to John. "Okay my lady," he said and went to take a shower.
