HOME SWEET HOME

"Hey Eli, ya I'm on my way I'll be there soon. Of course, I remembered, how can I forget it when I have made a promise with my sweet sister. I will be on time." I said on the phone.

"You better not forget or be late. I won't talk to you if you do that. I let you Go last time when you ruined our plans but this time, no way." She replied.

"I told you I'm on my way. I was just stuck up on something but it's done now. I'll be there before lunch, promise." I said and cut the call.

I was getting ready when Eli called. I slept late so I woke up late. Last night was unexpected, many emergency patients were brought in. I was literally running from one patient to the other. I was too tired to even eat when I got back this morning. I just told Eli that I'm on my way when I didn't even leave. But it's fine, she won't know it. I took quick shipping, then wore a white tee with blue denim jeans and sneakers.

I grabbed my phone, wallet, and car keys and left for the parking. I was Thinking of hailing a cab before but now that I'm already late, driving on my own seems like a better idea.

I jumped in my car, ignited the engine, and left for home. It usually takes two hours to reach home, but since it is the rush hour it will take around half an hour more. I parked the car in front of a cafe to grab something to eat. I haven't eaten anything after that party yesterday. And I'm now famished. I bought myself an avocado sandwich and an iced Americano. After I munch it in my car, I resumed my travel.

I get home in a little over two and a half hours. I felt a bit tired from sitting in a place for too long. I stretched my back when I came out of the car.

I came home after around four months. I haven't met my parents ever since not even I met my sister. She was so eagerly calling me but yet there is no one to welcome me at home. It's almost like no one thought I'd actually come. I had the keys still so I decided to go in.

Whatever, I still went inside no one was.in the living room, so I decided to go to the kitchen. Someone will surely be there. I saw mom in the kitchen, she was cooking something. She was also chopping something. She is so good at cooking, I missed her cooking a lot.

"Hey mom, I'm home. How are you?" I said while I hugged her from behind.

"Oh my god, Ren you scared me. At least make some noise so I know someone is coming. You scared the hell out of me, thank God I'm still not old, I would've had a heart attack." Mom said and chuckled.

"Come on mom," I whined.

"I was just teasing you. How are you son? You completely forget about this pretty lady. I didn't know you were coming." Mom whined hugging me.

"How can I forget the pretty lady of my life? I missed you guys a lot. It's just the hospital that takes the best of me. So I couldn't come sooner. It's just for a few more months then I'll move into my apartment. You can live with me there then." I told her.

"What will I do living with you, youngsters. Just get a girlfriend and live with her there." Mommy said.

"Come on mom, tell what are you cooking? I missed your food a lot there. I was only surviving there on restaurants." I told her.

"It's your favorite. Just wait for a while it'll be done soon. Go meet your dad and sister until then." Mom advised.

"Where is Eli? She said she is gonna introduce her boyfriend to us. Have you ever heard who she has been dating?" I asked.

"She didn't tell us until two days ago, I've asked her who he is but she didn't tell. She just said that we'll know soon." Mom told me.
