Jack spent the rest of the day showing Quinn round, introducing her to pack members. He mindlink to the manager of his town restaurant. Kate. He booked the table. His asked his unit if they were free. All agreed. "How are you feeling?" Val asked. Does he actually need to answer that you know everything. Val laughed. "Not everything." Val said laughing. He's fine, just taking it day by day. "Best way," Terry said. He saw his children before the meal and checked that they'd done homework. Sutton said she'd sort them for bed, but she couldn't take them to school in the morning due to an early test. Sutton didn't look happy but said nothing else. He walked across the hall and knocked on Quinns door. She opened it. She was wearing a purple shirt dress with a brown belt and brown knee-high boots. Her hair was down and wavy. She had makeup on not a lot just to make her eyes sparkle. She looked beautiful. "Do I look okay not over the top?" she asked me. No, you look just right, pretty but casual, She smiles. "You look nice. " Thank you. He had blue jeans on brown boots and a white polo shirt. Sutton had come into his bedroom and dressed him. She stated. "You're going on a date?" It's kind of a group date, so Quinn can get to know the unit. She stared at him and then walked into his closet. Sutton walked back out and handed him clothes. "Wear these, the white polo shirt always looked nice on your dark skin tone," Thank you, sweetheart. You didn't have to. Sutton exhaled. "I dont want you to be lonely. I miss mom every day, and I know you do too. Mom wouldn't want you to be sad or lonely. I'm not happy about it, but I'll try to make an effort and get to know her for you. Just not right now," He walked over and kissed her forehead. You, his sweet girl, will make a brilliant mate to someone one day. "Yeah, yeah," Sutton said. He laughed. "Dad, where are mom's things?" All boxed up in storage for when you, your sister, and brother are ready to have them. Why, you ask? "I wanted to wear mom's luna dress for my 18th birthday party. Is that's okay with you?" she said. Of course it is. He thinks she would love that. Quinn smiled. "Enjoy yourself. Good night," She said, walking away. She was just like her mother, kind and thoughtful. Quinn tapped him on his chest. "Where'd you go?" she said. Sorry, Sutton dressed him tonight. He got lost in thought. "She has good taste. You look nice." Thank you. Are you ready? she nodded. We walked into the restaurant, and the gang was already here. We were in a private area but still came here the atmosphere of the restaurant. He thought he'd do full introduction. Quinn, this is our beta, Terry. We've been friends our whole lives. Our fathers grow up together. This is his mate Mollie, who also grew up in this pack "It's nice to meet you both," Quinn said. This is your gamma Valentina or Val she also grew up in this pack. Her mother was his father's gamma, and her father is Italian and came from an allied pack in Italy. "Yes, I read that Lake Moonlight Pack. they were pictures, it's very beautiful. " she said. "Yes, my fathers pack is beautiful. We tend to go late summer. You'll have to come next time. My father was a warrior, and my mother was the current gamma. My father didn't want her to give it up, so he moved here, but when she retired, they moved to Lake Moonlight. " "That's nice," she said. This Hawkin our delta. Hawkin father and his twin brother were his father joint delta. Also, Val and Hawkin are mated. "It's nice to see you again. I hope I didn't cause too much trouble with your family," she said. "Quinn, you did nothing wrong. My sister has always been trouble, and we are actually twins, but she was 7 minutes after me. She never put in the effort growing up, and my father and uncle decided she wasn't delta material. Leighton has a chip on her shoulder. She's jealous it's all about rank and status with her. I would have thought she'd grown up by now," he said. Quinn sat down. "You all grow up together? " she asked. Yes, we did he's the oldest, then 6 months later, Terry, then 6 months after that Hawkin, then 10 years later Val. We all grow up living in the pack house. Mollie is younger than us. "Try 50 years younger," Mollie laughed. "Really, how old were you when you met?" Quinn asked "I was 18 when I mated to Terry he was 68 at the time. We've been together ever since. My family moved to the pack when I was 12 years old. My father was killed in war, and my mother met her second chance mates here at a mating ball. My stepfather Rickard is wonderful is an elite warrior trainer here, " Mollie said. Is one of the best, too. Mollie smiled. "The age difference, tho?" Quinn asked. Mollie smiled. "All fine, Terry is quite immature," she said, laughing. Terry shaked his head. "I'll remind you that you said that later when you want to ride me, and i say no," Terry said. Mollie said nothing and scowled at him. Quinn laughed. He turned to Quinn. Does our age difference bother you.? She raised an eyebrow. "Does it you?" she right back at him. No, not at all his first mate was older than him when we met. "Really? how many?" Sara was 8 years older than him. Quinn eyes went wide. "I dont understand. How is that possible?" Sara was human. She died of human cancer. She never shifted. "The children?" All by surrogate. Sara froze her eggs in her early 30s. Wolfen pups are hard to give birth too and she didn't think she could do it.Quinn was just stunned to silence. What's shocked you? "All of it. She never shifted. Humans are mostly likely to shift than wolfless are" Oh, he gets it. Do you think he'll reject you if you dont shift after we mark. "It was a thought?" She said. Quinn shift or no shift. He and Storm don't care. We didn't care before, and we dont care now. "Who was the surrogate?" she asked. Jack pointed at Mollie. "Really?" "Yes, I loved Sara. It was the first person to welcome me into the pack. Always helped me. I returned the favour, " she said. "Well, Val, it makes our bond sound boring. We just argued for years until we scented each other. " Hawkin said. We all laughed. "You still do," Terry said. "I would like to know more about her. Is that why you never left the pack. I remember you staying that?" she said. Yes, she was human and never shifted. He knew she'd be protected here in the pack. Just for him, he felt he needed to be here. "Do you feel that way with me?" Quinn asked. Please don't take offence, but no, you are strong and can protect yourself, but when we do mark, he'd prefer unless with him or the unit you'd stay in the pack. She nodded but didn't respond. It was a nice meal. Quinn asked loads of questions to the unit about their lives and children she was interested in. Val and Mollie said they should have a ladies' night away from the men to catch up. We were walking back to the pack house. When her attention was pulled into the forest. "What's that?" he looked himself. Oh, the teen spot they think he doesn't know about it. Where do they think it started with he laughed.Quinn turned to him. "Your grandfather?" she said Correct. It set up with a little bonfire and large flat rocks around it to sit on. It's cosy private to basically snog. He laughed. "Do you think Sutton has gone?" Probably, he let's her live her life. She wasn't allowed to go till 16, but she had to learn her own mistakes. Her mother had him promise to let her live and to be they to pick up the pieces if need be. "Does she know that?" Probably, she left letters for the kids to read. Sutton and Sapphira have but Sawyer, no. We sat outside on the bench. "How did she die, i know you said cancer?" Yes, she's been ill for a couple of years, then the last 6 months the doctors said nothing could be done. We saw every doctor in every realm human and magical. She was older her body had enough. We spent the last 6 months just celebrating everything we had on Christmas earlier, birthdays, and a couple of trips. It was just that the kids had memories. "And you?" It's been hard, but when he marked her and she didn't get a wolf, he knew this day would come. She nodded. Then, Quinn just stared at him. What? "You're different from how I thought you'd be." How so? "Well, the first impression wasn't great. You came across as a small-minded ,**hole that I actually thought would reject me. If I'm honest, you wouldn't take the time to get to know me. You're not overly comfortable, but I see you're trying. " Thank you he appreciates that. He walked her to her suite. He asked. Training tomorrow? He wants to see what you can do and what he thinks he can improve you on. "Improve on?" She said with a raised eyebrow. Yes, he nodded with a smile. "Fine, bring it on." she said, closing the door. He laughed.
