   When Kate went back inside, the party had almost come to an end. People were leaving gradually and she was thankful. She moved her exhausted self to a chair and sat down. After looking around for minutes, she was at least thankful she didn’t see any sign of Brandon. Her heart was still processing the rejection, now she understood what rejection felt like. The pain in her chest wasn’t going away.       Grabbing a drink from a waiter, she took slow sips then momentarily decided she wanted to get drunk. That was the only way she figured could help solve the pain in her chest.
