"Run!" Ronald tells her to flee because she will die much like Ronald, who is already drenched in his own blood.
"I'm not going to let you die here!" Georgia is very eager to defend her partner in crime, Ronald, who is also her best friend, and she is crying right now because she was also shot. She hid on the edge of the cement while loading her pistol with bullets to battle those crooks.
She kneeled down and pulled the trigger to shoot several people who were approaching them, but another criminal shot her partner again and urged her to escape since he couldn't protect her anymore, and more men were after her. She had no choice but to leave and drive her car with a broken heart.
She didn't seem to be able to breathe because she was crying, and it was only then that she realized she had a wound on her right thigh. She seemed to have lost herself and gradually lost consciousness, and everything went dark in one moment, and she couldn't breathe because the bullets that were used to shoot her contained drugs that could suffocate her entire being.
She awoke in a hospital and couldn't stop thinking about what had happened last night.
When her father attempted to assist her with getting up, she said, "How is Ronald?"
"He didn't make it." Her father was calm as he spoke to her, but he had a sad expression on his face. Georgia didn't know how to accept it, but Ronald had saved her life by taking the bullets that were meant for her. She owed him her life, thus her friend's death was heartbreaking.
His tears began to pour uncontrollably "Don't worry, daughter; you did an excellent job, and Ronald has become the new hero. He came to your rescue." Her father, who is attempting to calm her down, stated. "What I owe to him is the fact that he saved my life," she said, her voice is so sad and raspy from crying. “I will make them pay.”
“Georgia you need to calm down… you need to think about yourself and the enemy is stronger than you are.” her father explained to her.
She clenched her teeth and prepared to exact her vengeance; she wanted them to suffer for what they had done to her friend. She sniffed and responded, "I'm alright, I just want to see him." Her heart skipped a beat as she wished to see her best buddy one final time.
One week later,
"I can't believe you have to go on this amazing mission." Jessa greeted her cheerfully.
While they are inside the bar drinking and getting wasted, Georgia finishes her final drink. She is still heartbroken at her friend's death. "Wow, I'm not sure whether I need to take it," she remarked. "But I want justice, and I want the criminal mafia to be in jail once I have all of the evidence."
A man dressed in a suit sat beside her, too near to her body for her discomfort, as she could feel his hot breath on her neck. She's coming up with yet another reason to finish this guy.
She spun around and punched the guy in the face, startling him as he touched his broken nose and noticed blood trickling on the floor. "How could you do anything like this to me? b***h!" The man in the fancy suit is about to beat her, but she overheard a man yell,
"Stop what you're doing. Rusco!" His voice is dangerous yet is so calming to her ears, when she looked at him she suddenly hid her face behind her bag and dashed outside the bar with Jessa as quickly as she could, knowing that the man who had interrupted them was none other than Hugo Russo.
“What the f*ck is he doing there?” Georgia exclaimed as she gulped for air and regained her composure. Jessa is panting and her cheeks have blown out. "If he sees you, your mission is over! You'll apply for a job tomorrow, and then everything will fall into place."
"He doesn't seem to notice my face..." She reasoned with herself.
"This is something I need to inform our commander about."
She stops Jessa and harshly folds her arms. “No, you don't need to do that. I am sure I can do this job and I will succeed.”
Jessa shakes her head in disbelief because she is still worried about her friend.
“I know Detective Georgia Miller. Gosh, you are so careless! Be careful next time.”
She was walking back to her apartment when the image of Hugo Russo, the guy she has despised her entire life and who is responsible for the death of her best friend, flashed before her eyes. When she recalled the situation in her thoughts, she noticed how the man's demeanor changed when he heard Hugo Russo's deep and dangerous voice.
She felt terror for the first time in her life when she saw the face of a criminal guy for a fraction of a second, and she wondered if she could perform this job if she would risk her own life to achieve the desired justice.
She received a call from the agency where she applied to be one of Hugo Russo's personal assistants when she was already inside of her apartment. Her resume is so well-written that employers would be ecstatic to hire her because she is the ideal candidate for this position.
“Thank you, I will be present tomorrow morning.”
“Okay, looking forward to seeing you.” the woman said.
She finally ended the call with a smile on her face.
She sighed, realizing that this was the first step entering Hugo Russo's life. She was overjoyed at the news and cried as she thought of Ronald.
Next day,
“Miss Gia Royce.” She heard her name was being called. She stood up, she is already now in one of the buildings of Russo’s company.
“This way please.” The secretary said as she followed her inside the grand and luxurious office.
“You can go now, Miss Ong.” A man in a black suit told the secretary to exit the room.
“Gia, right?” The man said.
She shrugged her shoulders. “Y-yes, sir.”
“You will be starting your work tomorrow as the personal assistant of Mister Hugo Russo,” he said and handed her the documents with an address written on them. "Take this and go now, but be careful. Mister Hugo isn't the kind of guy you'd imagine."
