Gossman Square was packed.
A few thousand people with colourful signs marched along the circular street that surrounded the statue. More people watched from the windows of nearby buildings. The chanting had been going on for hours. “Full rights! Fair pay! Full rights! Fair pay!” Sometimes, it died down a little only to come roaring back a few minutes later.
