Chapter 35: Leaf Town

1006 Words
What a small world! It turned out that Left-handed love bought all the gold coins Ivan posted online. He began to wonder about Left-handedLove’s true identity, spending $90,000 on a game was not something most common people would do.   Ivan knew some of the unpleasant history between the Sovereign Guild and Left-handedLove. He also knew that there was an association behind the Sovereign Guild, so was it possible there was an association behind Left-handed love? Regardless, Ivan told Leo, Claire, and FallenAngel the good news.  "How are you always able to find these business deals?” FierceKiller, Leo’s screen name, sent back. "Ivan! You’re my hero!” Claire known as Bunny replied.  The last message was from Fallen Angel, "Dude, I didn’t know that I was a player who deserves 100 gold coins in your eye but okay, I will join you!” Ivan teased back, "Oh? You don’t think you deserve this? I don’t want to put any pressure on you. I’ll find someone else." "Wait! Wait! Wait! I said I will join! Those are my 100 gold coins!” FallenAngel quickly replied. "Um, 100 gold coins. What should we do now? Should I leave this to you or contact someone else?” "Leave it to me! Please! You’re the best! Bishop!” "Em,but what can I get if I give you this opportunity?” "You!!!!” FallenAngel finally realized what Bishop meant. "Ha-ha! Okay, okay, I’ll see you at Leaf Town.” With a hearty smile on his face, Ivan could only imagine how beautiful FallenAngel’s expression was. Leo and Claire arrived at Leaf Town within half an hour, curiously looking around. After visiting every corner of the town, they finally found Ivan standing at the entrance of the forest. The two players rushed over, "You son of b***h, is this your town? I was almost fooled by you." Leo pointed to the wood and brick everywhere. "Are you sure we have some Golden-level boss?" Claire disagreed with Leo, "I think this is a beautiful town. Look at this maple leaf forest! Leo, you should learn to enjoy the scenery. I kind of like it.” Leo rolled his eyes, "Give it up. You can stay here if you like, but don’t waste your time on me. Scenery…scenery…let me know if one day you actually make money from this scenery.” "Hey, hey, calm down. At least we have a place to settle down, don’t we? See? We will have our Trump Studio root and develop from here with my town!" "By the way, Leo, have you recently contacted anyone from the Pursuer Guild?" Ivan asked. "For what? To let them see how miserable we are?" Leo rubbed his nose. "Hey, Leo, it’s different now, all right? I’m a Baron, and this is my town! I'm telling you, not only can I collect taxes from the whole town, but I also have the right to allocate land for guild construction. You don’t think I will give out those land for free, do you?” Ivan learned more about guilds when he logged in. It turned out organizing a guild in Rivalry required not only the guild token but also the purchase of land from the system. Besides, the guild had to pay land taxes regularly. Ivan felt he could make a large amount of money but of course, the owner of the guild could overturn the owner and then take the town. If that was to happen, the guild would not have to pay taxes any longer and since Ivan had his own land, he wouldn’t have to worry about land purchase or taxes.  "Are you serious? I will contact them when I’m free.” Leo exclaimed. Free guild land and free tax…They would be invincible if there was a guild token. Opportunities were always there for prepared people. Ivan knew he had to be the first mover. Ivan understood how important it was to be the first established guild. The earlier the guild was established, the more people it would attract, then the quicker the guild would develop. Normally, the gap was substantial even between the first and second establish a guild. The more people, the faster the group developed, meaning the more talent, so the second and third to establish had to compete with the stronger, more advanced, leaving a huge gap. The rule could be applied to the game and in real life, Ivan realized, that was why people were all obsessed with being first.  The drawbacks to being the first guild could not be ignored though. Without powerful players as support, the guild would be destroyed and replaced sooner or later. However, there were more advantages than disadvantages. Although Ivan knew the benefits of having the first guild in the game, he definitely didn't want to be the first person. If he got lucky enough to get a token, he would sell it for money. He didn’t only have to think about his dad, but he also knew he didn’t have the strength to maintain a guild.  “Stop it!” Ivan slapped to his face, “Wake up, Ivan! Not the time to dream yet!” “Guys, let’s set a small goal! Get a guild token and sell it for a billion ... Well, it doesn't seem to be worth that much, so $100,000!" Ivan's dreams were filled with money ...... After half an hour, FallenAngel and Left-handed love joined them at Leaf Town. To Ivan’s surprise, they stood side by side, "You... You know each other?”  Left-handed love spoke up first, "No. I met her in the forest. She rushed at me and tried to grab my weapon!” Ivan finally noticed Left-handed love was holding a blue weapon in his hand. "Hey! Watch your mouth! I just wanted to have a closer look! You snob!" Fallen Angel was irritated. Perhaps because of the sunlight, Ivan found that FallenAngel was even more beautiful than the first night they met. Of course, she was not comparable to Fiona and her beauty, but it was not fair to put a player and NPC in the same category.  FallenAngel reminded Ivan of a pure young student. Soft hair, shiny eyes, and smooth skin, it looked to be as smooth as a piece of jade.  Ivan decided FallenAngel had replaced Fiona and became his favorite figure in the game.
