Chapter 34- A New Chance

Seeing the balance of Ivan’s bank account, Ann looked more upset than happy, “Why do you have so much money? Ivan, you didn’t do anything illegal, did you?”

"Mom, trust me! I earn every penny with my own two hands!”

"I know it's not enough yet, but I have the ability to earn money! I will bring more next time."

As they were talking, a message from the hospital arrived. There was not enough money in Martin’s account to cover his expenses. Ivan walked down the hall toward the cashier, the broken glass was cleaned up and replaced with a new piece. 

Charles wasn’t behind the desk, the new cashier was much more patient than Charles had been. Ivan deposited $75,000 into his father’s account and then transferred the remaining $4,000 to his mother for the surgery that would take place in a few days. Ivan knew he couldn’t stay at the hospital much longer, he needed to take advantage of every second he could to earn more money to help his parents. 

Ivan decided to go back to San Francisco, while his mom stayed at the hospital with his dad. He promised he would be back when Martin had his next surgery. 

Ann also agreed with Ivan. “Ivan, don’t worry about me. I’ll call your cousin. She will be here with me.”

"Mom, call me if anything happens, and I'll be here immediately," said Ivan.

"Yeah, Ann, not just Ivan, we’ll also be here," agreed Claire and Leo.

"Thank you! Thank you, you are both so sweet!" Ann nodded.

After a saying their goodbyes, Ivan, Leo and Claire left to go back to San Francisco. 

The first Ivan did when he stepped into the room was to put on the game helmet. Rivalry! It wasn’t just something for entertainment any longer, it now was his family’s only hope. 

Ivan entered the game. His character, Bishop, was still in Ginkgo Village. He was low on money and knew that the small village was not the best place to make a large fortune. 

He headed for Leaf Town, there was a huge change. The time in the game was several times faster than that of real life. The destroyed houses were completely demolished; new foundations were ready and people were busy preparing to build. Ivan sat on the edge of town, watching busy people come and go. He could see that regardless of reality or the game, people never stopped working on building the best life they could. 

At this point, Left-handedLove's chat box popped up, "Hi! Bishop, how’s going? I’ve been waiting the entire day for you. Is everything all right?”

After reading the message, Ivan sent back a smiley emoji, "Hi! My dad's in hospital, so I was out of town to see my parents.”

Left-handed love replied immediately, "Is he better now? Do you need any help? "

Ivan had no idea how to explain what he was feeling. He never expected the people who reached out to him at such a critical time were not his so-called family members but the strangers he knew on a game.

"It’s okay. How about you? Is your mission done?”

“Yeah, done, done. I've got a Rare-class weapon. You have no idea how brightly blue it shines!” Left-handed love was so proud.

“Congrats!”

"By the way, I was looking for you because of a mission,” Left-handed love stated. 

"Oh, what mission?" Ivan asked.

It was a while before Left-handed love answered this message, "It is like the last time! I did that B-level mission between Logan and Leaf Town. I found a boss hidden in the mountains. s**t, I was killed and dropped back to level 1 before I even got close! I know it sounds like bullshit to have such a powerful boss in a level 10 map, but I assure you this boss is at least at the Silver level, if not at Golden level!"

Ivan was interested immediately as he heard the Golden-level boss.

The Mob in Rivalry had been divided into several levels, Common, Super, Leader, Silver, Golden, Hell, and Holy.

The best part of killing a Golden-level was that there was a good chance to gain the guild token as a reward. Guild tokens were a pre-requisite that allowed players to organize their own guilds. It had been few days since the game had started, and no guild was created yet since no one could find a guild token. Ivan believed that every big guild was and eager to find one but none were lucky enough. 

Ivan was pretty sure that there would be a huge market for the token, and he might have the chance to get all the money he needed for the hospital stay and surgery if he could find a token. 

Ivan was definitely interested in the Golden boss, "I guess you must already have a plan for this boss?”

It didn’t take long for Left-handed love to reply, "Well, I'm thinking of organizing a team. The only thing is I am still new here, so I was thinking maybe we can work together. What  do you think about that? Of course, if we find nothing, I'll pay you 500 gold coins, if we are lucky enough to find and kill the boss, I’ll pay you 1,000 gold coins."

"Deal!" Ivan didn't hesitate. Getting 500 gold coins in his bag as long as he joined Left-handedLove, he would be crazy to say no. For other team members, Ivan mentioned Claire, Leo, and of course, FallenAngel.

"Great! Tell your friends! I’ll pay 100 gold coins per person as long as they join us, " Left-handed love said generously.

"Okay, I’ll talk to them and let you know."

Ivan was shocked to see how generous Left-handed love was in a game.

Leo, Claire, Fallen Angel, plus himself, Left-handed love already have an expense of 800 gold coins and they didn’t even know if there’s a mob or not.

Left-handedLove’s next message was, "We better show Sovereign Guild who is the boss here!”

"Oh?" Ivan replied. It seemed that something must have happened again between Left-handedLove and the Sovereign Guild when he was not there.

"s**t! The guy who sold those gold coins! I don’t know what he was thinking! He divided 4,000 gold coins and posted several times. s**t! You have no idea how long it took me to repeat the same process!" Left-handed love complained.

It turned out Left-handed love was the one who bought all the gold coins, "Yeah…son of a b***h…haha.”
