Chapter 56: Rose Lovato

Ivan went back to Loda through the Teleportation Array. He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. It had been a while since he was at the swamp but what he saw on the other side continued to flash in his mind. He had no idea what was happening there, but he knew that he was not ready for it. However, the one plus side was that he finally found a goal in the game.

After thinking for a while, he wrote a message and sent it to his friends. Ivan believed that sharing any information could strengthen their team, especially when most of them didn’t know each other outside of the game.

Left-handed Love didn’t wait too long before writing back, “Blackrock Depths? Mobs above level 80? Forget it, it's not a place where we can go now.”

Then FallenAngel said, “Come on! How can you guys find those interesting places?”

Ivan, of course, replied to her immediately, “Hi, Angel! I didn’t think you would be online right now. How are you doing?”

An angry emoji popped up in response to Ivan, “Come on, I am serious about this game. I logged on immediately after class.”

Ivan laughed, "Yeah, yeah, of course, you did. How about we find the time? We can work together to find another Golden mob.”

FallenAngel smiled and replied, "Why not?"

As Ivan tried to think of something else to talk to Angel about, he noticed her avatar went dark. He swore, “Are you kidding me?”

He wasn’t happy but then realized she was a student in university so she probably had homework or studying to do. He knew July was exams for the summer class so he believed she would have more time to spend playing the game in another few weeks.

Leo was the last one to answer Ivan’s message since he was busy trying to reorganize their guild, “Blackrock Depths? Let’s talk about this later. Over forty players from our Pursuer Guild are gathering in Leaf Town. We’d like to find another Guild Establishment Token. Will you be joining us or not?”

“Of course, I will be!” Ivan immediately clicked on the Teleportation Array and went directly to Leaf Town.

After a few seconds, Ivan returned to Leaf Town and then ran toward the north of the town. The meeting point was the largest restaurant around, “A Taste of Rose”. It was rumored that the owner of the restaurant chose the name because she expected it to bloom like a gorgeous rose.

Rose Lovato, the owner of the restaurant was a beautiful young woman in her thirties. When she saw Ivan at the door, she immediately walked over to welcome him. She enthusiastically pulled Ivan in close to her, he could feel her breasts rub against his chest and he blushed.

"Do we know each other?" Ivan asked curiously.

"Oh, my Lord, who doesn’t know Logan's youngest Baron, Bishop? It’s really my honor to have you in my restaurant. Come in, please! I was afraid your friends might eat me alive if you didn’t show up,” Rose smiled, just like a blooming rose. 

Divion City was Rose’s hometown but war broke out on the Blessing Continent, she moved to Leaf Town. She used the money she made from selling her properties and jewelry to open the restaurant.

Ivan was able to see the information because he was the Lord of Leaf Town, when he saw her name, a profile window appeared to tell him more about her.

"You came from another town?" Ivan inquired, but he really wanted to know how she kept her breasts so perky.

Rose’s eyes filled with tears as if she was thinking of a sadder time, “Yes, I was born to a poor family. I married my husband, who was from a better family. Just when I thought I would have a wonderful life; the war broke out in Divion City. My entire family was killed, for some reason, I survived…”

When Rose mentioned her family, she could barely speak, “But luckily, I came to Leaf Town and you are the Lord. Thanks to you, I finally have a quiet and peaceful life.”

Rose rubbed Ivan's arm as if thanking Leaf Town for accepting her. Surprisingly, Ivan pushed her hand away and said coldly, "Stop lying! What is your real purpose of coming here?"

"I don’t understand…” Rose mumbled with an embarrassed smile on her face.

"Divion City is 1200 kilometers away from Leaf Town. I don’t think a beautiful young woman like you could make it all the way here alone. You have recruited at least one hundred people since you arrived. For what? And, do not tell me it is to work at this 3-storey restaurant. I should maybe remind you how often you send people out. Twenty-one times in just seven days, that is about three times a day, and not less than ten people each time. I need an explanation. Where are they going? What are you doing?” Ivan interrogated Rose.

Rose trembled as if she was being physically attacked. She shuddered, “How do you know all of this?”

Ivan said proudly, "I am Lord of Leaf Town, of course, I know everything that is happening here."

Clearly Rose couldn’t keep calm anymore after she found out Ivan knew all of her activities, “What do you want? Are you going to send you guard to kill me?”

Ivan shook his head and said coldly, "I just want to know your reason for coming here. Who are you?”

Rose was relieved after hearing Ivan’s reply. She stroked her chest, and a charming smile appeared on her face, “Oh, my Lord, please listen to me. I didn’t mean to hurt anyone in Leaf Town. On the contrary, I am here to contribute.”

"Oh?" Ivan looked at Rose curiously and let her continue.

Rose approached Ivan and whispered, "Have you heard the Lovatos?" She smiled when she saw Ivan's confused face, "The Lovatos are the largest intelligence family in the northern part of the continent. Over the past hundreds of years, they have managed to get a lot of valuable information and intelligence that even the government couldn’t access. I guess you can imagine what the government thinks of the Lovatos.”

Ivan could see the honesty on Rose’s face so he asked, “Then why did you come here?”

Rose lowered her head in embarrassment then said, “Actually the Lovatos selected here. Do you know the Demon race invasion? We knew this could be a huge disaster, so our family cast a horoscope. We believe that Loda could resist the Demon race, or more precisely, Leaf Town is the key to the war.”

“Leaf Town?" Ivan couldn't believe his ears. “Are you kidding me? You know this town only has a population of around ten thousand people. Are you sure we can take on such a big responsibility?”

Rose also said suspiciously, "I was sent here to check it out. The restaurant is a cover so that I can secretly explore the town, and it turned out…”

"You didn't find anything?" Ivan laughed out as if he already knew the answer.

Rose continued angrily, "You said it. I have no idea how a small town like here could resist the Demon race. I shouldn’t have sold all my properties and jewelry," saying this, Rose hit on the door to express her frustration.

Ivan was still a bit confused, "You just said that you can help me build Leaf Town?"

Rose replied, "Yes, intelligence is the greatest ability that the Lovatos have. If you let me stay here, I can provide you with all types of intelligence for free. For Demon, for boss, for guilds, and…”

Ivan didn't expect to have such an advantage, "And what?”

Rose Lovato smiled mysteriously, "And the information of all the girls on the continent.”

"All the girls?!" Ivan exclaimed.
