Chapter 24- Find a Niche

Ivan was excited to show off for FallenAngel and was quite surprised to see that she had gained proficiency in her skill when it appeared on the bulletin board of the regional system.   At this time, FallenAngel replied to him, “Hey, I was busy. What do you want to tell me?”   “Angel, let me tell you what happened to me…” Ivan said triumphantly but before he finished the story, FallenAngel interrupted, “I’m going shopping with my best friend. TTYL!”   “Well, congratulations on your skill,” Ivan sighed. Though he had only met her for a short period, he noticed she didn’t seem too enthusiastic about gaming. He thought it was such a waste of her talent.    A few seconds later, messages began to come in, one after another.    “Good boy, I can’t believe you’ve got an estate. You’re hot s**t. Where are you? I am coming to you.” Leo exclaimed with his characteristic impulsiveness. Ivan sent him the route map to Leaf Town.   “Ivan, you’re marvelous! You’re my idol. Where did you get the baron mission? Is there a baroness one? I want it, too.” Claire commented.    You adorkable little girl. Do you think a baron status grows like cucumbers on the side of the road? And baroness? Come on.   Ivan replied right away, “Yes, there are a basket of baroness statuses and also many cucumbers. Come to Leaf Town.” He said with a smirk on his face.   Opening his backpack, Ivan saw that he had many more coins than he thought. He had also forgotten that he had picked up so many things after eliminating the Sovereign. He took his time to look at them, his coins increased to 1,400. Only 1,000 coins were left after he sold them; he gained 150 coins for completing the mission to Loda; and 220 coins for getting the baron status and the estate.    He must have picked up the other 30 coins when the SovereignKing died, that bastard was rich, and won 30 coins in a single day’s fight. Ivan thought he might seek him out just to kill him whenever he needed money. Besides coins, SovereignKing also contributed some equipment. Of course, the most valuable item was the elaborately made green glowing ax that was dropped by SovereignWolf. Ivan figured it would be worth several coins if he sold it but he found two pieces of equipment that he planned to keep for himself.    Cheap Cotton Rope (Average) Defense+10 Hit Points+150 Stamina Points +2 Durability: 17/20 Equipment Level: 8   Cheap Shin Guard (Average) Defense+8 Health+120 Agility+4 Durability: 16/20 Equipment Level: 9   Great. They not only enhance basic properties like Defense and Health, but also increase 2 points of Stamina and 4 points of Agility as well. I think these are what I need and will be perfect for me.    After Ivan finished checking and sorting out the stuff, he walked out onto the street in Loda. At the moment, a troop of cavalry raced past him, stirring the leaves on the ground. The floated leaves flew up near Ivan’s head and made him feel uneasy. As he swung his arm to brush them away, he recognized the man in the lead. He was the captain of the guard in Lord Castle, Rock. He had to be heading to Leaf Town to rescue Fiona. Ivan wanted to follow the troop, but as soon as he took a few steps he remembered that he was still in a Poisoning state and could go no faster than a turtle.    He was upset and mumbled, “I’ve got to get rid of this poison but where do I go for help?”   There was no known way to detoxify, so Ivan had no choice but to try to figure it out on his own. Rivalry simulated reality and therefore he thought as long as he found a chemist store, the chemist there should be able to help him.    Ivan went to the west side of Loda and at a crossroads, he saw as a signpost showing how to get to the chemist store, clothing and jewelry store and the weapon store.    He followed the sign to the chemist store, then clicked on the “Purchase” option when inside of it. There were a wide variety of drugs, Ginkgo Village and Leaf Town could not compare with the items available in Loda. Apart from the basic Lesser Healing Potion and Mana Potion, average and greater ones were also available but more expensive, several times the price of the lesser potions. There were some other potions that exerted influence on the state of additional properties.   Lesser Strength Potion: Increase Strength by 5% per minute. Sell for 1 coin  each.   Lesser Agility Potion: Increase Agility by 5% per minute. Sell for 1 coin each.   Lesser Health Potion: Increase Health by 5% per minute. Sell for 1 coin each. … There were many more types of potions but Ivan didn’t bother to scroll through the entire list.    There were average and greater potions for each type. An average potion, sold for 5 coins, could increase 10% of an additional property, whereas a greater potion, sold for 10 coins, could increase 15% of an additional property.   “They are so expensive, even a lesser state potion which lasts only 1 minute sells for 1 coin, the equivalent of $20. Too extravagant and oh, there’s a purchase limit,” Ivan marveled when he saw the stock of Lesser Strength Potion was 100 and that of the greater one was 10.   “What if I buy these state potions and sell them in Novice Village?” A sense of being a wealthy businessman began to stir in Ivan as he thought his idea over.     “These, and those potions… I want them all,” he suddenly said to the owner of the chemist store unhesitatingly. He was acting just like a person who had won the lottery.   “Are you sure you want them all?” the owner asked, his voice trembling with excitement. This was going to be the biggest deal since the opening of his store, he was undoubtedly very cheerful.   “I am sure. I have enough coins.” Ivan showed the coins in his bag to the owner.   The owner was almost incoherent with excitement. After packing up the potions and handing them to Ivan, he took 1,000 coins from Ivan and said happily, “Thank you for your patronage. From now on you can enjoy a permanent 10% discount in my store.”   “Wow, great! Thanks,” Ivan said gratefully after he put the potions into his backpack and sorted them. As he was about to leave the store, he recalled his main purpose here. He tapped his forehead and asked the owner, “I am so forgetful. I nearly forgot the reason I had come in. I am in a Poisoning state, is there any potion that can remove it?”   The owner had a close look at it and shook his head. “I have the richest variety of potions in Loda, but I don’t have one that can remove your state,” said he.   “Even the largest chemist store in Loda cannot solve my problem. What should I do? Am I really expected to wait until it disappears after 72 hours ?” said Ivan, filled with despair.   The owner of the chemist store began to feel anxious for Ivan. After pacing through the store, he suddenly spoke, “It’s not totally unsolvable. Maybe you can turn to the Venerable Conrad Roberts. It’s just that the elderly man comes and goes, so he is untraceable to most common people. I have heard he is in Loda and that Lord Logan is his friend. I am assuming he is in Lord Castle but you would never be able to get in there…”   The thin elderly man with spectacles suddenly appeared in Ivan’s mind. “What? The person who can c***k Poisoning is in Lord Castle?” Ivan said with a pleasant surprise.   “I can get inside Lord Castle!” Ivan exclaimed and ran out of the chemist store.
