Chapter 24It stopped drizzling. Taisia pulled the hood of her charcoal sweatshirt over her head and braved the cold wind that nipped at her cheeks. Riley matched her pace. Their running shoes trampled through the dirt path that weaved around the lush, green field. Taisia stared ahead, at the fog that enveloped the decrepit houses in the distance. “What if everything Cory said is true?” She asked quietly, a plume of warm breath escaping her cold lips. “Then you, Skyler, Evelína and I are the so-called Astoríans. We should storm into Mendela's office and reclaim our rights to be the school's mascots. If that doesn't give her a reason to have us tested for drugs, then I don't know what will.
