Jason’s POV After Hunter’s call, I couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling he had left me with. I set my phone down, trying to convince myself that everything was fine, that Daisy was just asleep in her room like she always was at this hour. But the more I thought about it, the more that feeling crept in, a gnawing worry I couldn’t ignore. So, I decided to check on her. I swung my legs over the edge of the bed, pulled on a hoodie, and made my way down the hallway, the house eerily quiet in the early morning light.
