Chapter 12

1610 Words
"Please, officer!" Eleanor weeps in the arms of a police officer.   "We'll do our best, Ms. Kyteler..." The cop pats her shaking shoulders. Eleanor is so good at acting that every officer in this station is either shedding a tear or feeling bad for her.   She's been called to the station this morning to answer a few questions regarding Lana's disappearance. Yes, no one knows that her roommate is dead because Ellie threw Lana's remains in the dumpster. It'll probably take days before they find out that she's been murdered, but seriously, it's not a big deal.   The enchantress can easily compel these mortals to close the case in a blink of an eye. Oh well.   "Do you want a ride back to Kinghorn?" The detective asks. He's the only person who isn't moved by Eleanor's acting. To be honest, he has a hunch that the female vampire is behind all of this.   "Okay," she only agrees because she's certain that this detective is skeptical about her, and so to stop him from being nosy, Eleanor will just suck his blood dry.   Easy lunch.   The thought of drinking straight from this detective's jugular vein as he drives excites Eleanor. Her fangs are threatening to show while walking towards the exit. Just as she's about to take one more step, someone speaks.   "Ms. Eleanor Kyteler, freeze!" The voice is demanding that's why the enchantress immediately looks back.   Her eyes spark with amusement upon realizing that the creature she's been meaning to see after many weeks is finally here.   "Or what?" If he's demanding, then she's challenging. "You're gonna arrest me?"   He smirks.   "Arrest her," he orders the police officer. "She killed Lana Del Rio."   Eleanor's mouth hangs open when the cops really followed his order. Without warrant or anything, they try to arrest her.   "Stop!" She panics because compulsion doesn't work. Eleanor struggles to get away from the officers by trying to bite them, howbeit the other cops fire bullet into her body.   She falls on the floor while clutching her stomach.   "What the hell!" The bullets won't kill her, but damn it hurts!   "I could ask them to stop if you're willing to come with me,"   "Rot in hell!" She glares at the smirking psycho. This is the same man who cornered her in the locker's area and made her believe that she lost her fangs.   "You sure? There are fifty cops in this station. You might be a vampire, but you cannot outnumber them, especially when compelling them is out of the picture."   She's hardheaded, but not stupid. Nothing good will come if she fights him or the officers in broad daylight and in front of surveillance cameras. They will just keep on firing bullets at her and right. She still won't be able to coerce these mortals.   "What do you want?" She murmurs. Her pride is beating her up for giving up that easily. Well, it's not like she has a choice.   "Does this mean you agree to go with me?"   Eleanor avoids his eyes and then she slowly nods. Embarrassment creeps into her whole body. It feels weird not to be the superior being the room.   "Lower your guards now. Ms. Kyteler is innocent." The stranger offers his hand to the female vampire.   She takes it.   They came into an agreement to talk at Eleanor's dorm since the man she's with demands to be with her in private.   "Tell me what you want." There's no such thing as beating around the bush for her. Eleanor's time is precious. Besides, for some reason, she can't seem to stop hating this man—wait, scratch that. She knows exactly why she despises him.   This man is arrogant and more powerful than her.   "Straight to the point, I like it..." His eyes scan the whole room. He instantly notices that there are two beds, though it appears like no one is occupying it.   "Why don't we make ourselves comfortable first?" He sits on Eleanor's bed—no, he bounces on it. The squeaky sound of the mattress irritates the vampire more.   "Let's start with a short introduction." He smiles—the kind of smile that shows his white set of teeth. It's so white, just like his skin. "My name is Limuel."   Eleanor huffs.   "Let me make this clear for you, Limuel." She takes a step closer to him every time she speaks each word slowly. "Tell me what you want or I'll tear your head off."   Of course she's bluffing. She doesn't even know if he's mortal or not, but she could at least try, right? After all, killing Jennie is just a piece of cake.   Limuel hums. Fear fleetingly crosses his eyes, yet Eleanor still manages to see it—causing a small triumph rush through her vein.   If there's fear, then obviously, there's hope.   "Turn me into a vampire." He inhales deeply as he raises his brow.   His statement must have been funny because just like that, Eleanor bursts into laughter. She's chucking so hard that tears flood her eyes.   "You made me a fool the first time we met." She abruptly stops laughing and then she crosses her arms, a smirk is now plastered on her lips. "So tell me, why should I do what you want?"   Eleanor is expecting either an arrogant verbal answer or an act that will showcase how powerful he is, so imagine how surprise the enchantress is when Limuel just said these absurd words: "Because I can teach you how to be more powerful. We could conquer the world together and kill anyone we want."   Eleanor quirks her brow. This is interesting because to be honest, going out with Sage to kill people made her realize how exciting and reassuring it is to have a companion. It also brings her great pleasure to see the amount of blood being drained into the bodies of the people.   Eleanor studies Limuel's face. He's a little enthusiastic now that he finally revealed his intention.   She licks her lower lips. She's standing right in front of him when she decided to lean closer to his face.   "So you're saying that you are more powerful than me?" This doesn't sit well on her.   Limuel grins, he crossed his legs as he nibbles his bottom lip—like he's thinking.   "Let see," he ponders. "I blocked your compulsion ability, I got into your head and made you look like a fool, and oh! I forced you to come with me today."   "Pff." She exclaims abruptly—causing Limuel to scowl. Her interjection is obviously an insult.   "If you're so strong, then why don't you just force other vampires to turn you? Or better yet, why don't you get inside of my head again and make me...." She leans closer to run her lips through the side of his neck.   Limuel clears his throat, yet he made no move to back off.   Eleanor hums mockingly.   "Is it because you can get into my vampire head, but not in my enchantress mind?"   Limuel's breathing hitches. She pulls away from him just to check his face. He looks like s criminal caught red-handed.   Oh, well. This is another win for Eleanor today. Day by day, she just keeps on proving to herself and to everyone else that she's basically a God.   Limuel is attacking her bad one side because no one can ever compel a good one.   "I'm busted." He raises his hands as if he's surrendering. "You're the only one who can turn me into a vampire without losing my magic...."   "Humor me." Ellie smirks.   After letting out a deep sigh, Limuel then elucidates his desires. He's warlock, but his magic comes from the darkness. He wants to become immortal, however it doesn't end in that. He likes to feel everything: heightened senses, turning people, and regenerative healing factor. Actually, he can coerce other vampires to turn him into a bad one. The only problem is, he is well aware that the capabilities of vampires overpower the strengths of the goods ones.   Clearly, Limuel doesn't like his power as a warlock to diminish. They said that the good ones can only perform small spells when they become preporods.   But if Eleanor, both an enchantress and a vampire, bites him while sealing the necessary spell, Limuel can be like her too.   "I just don't get it," she paces back and forth. "If you badly need my help, then why did you get on my bad side?"   He should have wooed her instead of getting into her nerves. He should be down on his knees begging forgiveness for pissing her off.   "I didn't think you'll ever glance at me when you know that I'm just a warlock who badly needs your help," he mimics her statement.   Eleanor bites the inside of her cheek. He has a point. Her first thought upon seeing this guy is to actually end his life.   "And I need to convince you to want me. I'm pretty special you know," that's true. Again, Limuel is able to block Ellie's power as vampire.   "I guess you're right." Her smile suggests that he managed to convince Eleanor to turn him. To prove this, she moves her face closer to act like she's about to bite him.   "Viveyes letimora," she's reciting the spell to make Limuel the kind of vampire who has warlock magic.   She continues chanting the words.   Eleanor lied. She has no intention turning him.  It's not that easy. She holds grudges, so instead of biting him, she grabs his head to twist it.   "Mouirir!" It means die, unfortunately, Limuel disappears before she can decapitate him.   "You shouldn't have done that, Dear Eleanor..." His eerie voice travels through the wall of the room.   The vampire flinches, she looks back and there she saw the warlock smirking at her.   "You really thought I'll let my guard down? Shame." Limuel practices black magic, but that doesn't mean he's not familiar with the spells used by the good ones.   Eleanor is a fool for thinking that he isn't aware that the words she just chant are going to kill him.   "So I'm wishing you good luck..." His eyes turn dark. "Because you just declared war between us."   Limuel disappears one more time—leaving Eleanor who refuses to run after him.
