"How do I know that you're not going to betray me again?" Limuel casually sips his hot chamomile tea while raising a brow at Eleanor.
The two of them are inside the same space again. This time, it's in Limuel's room. This succomber really performed a spell so no one can find him, unfortunately, the enchantress can reverse any kind of magic trick.
Actually, Eleanor isn't much bothered by this man’s existence. This is the reason why this is only the first time she made an effort to find him—wait, scratch that. Ellie tried to look for Limuel after he got into her head, however she got caught up in Sage's drama that she literally forgot how annoying this succomber is.
By their second meeting, Eleanor is a bit intrigued at him, but not to the point where she wishes to see him again. She tried to murder him yesterday for that reason: he's boring and unworthy of her time, so she wants him gone.
The only explanation why she decided to meet with him is because she changed her mind.
"Can't you see me?" Eleanor points at herself. "I have no humanity left in me. I am insatiable. I need blood and I don't want to be with someone who will stop me to do so."
"Hm," Limuel puts down the cup on the table. He isn't sure what to say yet because frankly, he's unconvinced. What Eleanor did to him last night is serious. He declared war between them. What kind of man retracts his statement after a few promises from his enemy?
Imbecile. That's the word to describe that kind of man.
Limuel refuses to be an imbecile.
"You're not one of those who want to stop me, right?" The vampire inquires, tapping her hand at the table; she also stares deep into his eyes.
She notices that the succomber is still hesitant, slowly, Eleanor fishes out the potion inside the pocket of her jeans and then like what Hope did, she waves it in the air.
Limuel's jaw clenches. His eyes follow the movement of the bottle. Of course he knows that this is the potion that can end him. It's the sole reason why Hope helped the vampire named Sage.
Damn it.
"Let your guard down now, Limuel." She smiles as she pours out the magical liquid on the ground.
An evil grin crosses her face when Limuel shakes his head in disbelief. It's definite now that she finally earned his trust.
"Partners?" Ellie extends her hand and the succomber shakes it warmly.
"Let's do this." He tilts his head to side to expose his neck. He'll know if Eleanor is just f*****g with him. This succomber is familiar with all kinds of spell. Aurora was the only witch he can never beat, but alas. That queen is long dead now.
The door fly open just as Eleanor is about to turn Limuel. For the third time, she failed to bite him because Sage shoots the enchantress using a magical gun.
"I'm sorry, but I just can't let you win."
Eleanor falls down. She won't die, but this gun will temporarily stop her magic. It's like the pistol version of the chain.
Limuel growls. He's so close into getting what he wants, but Sage and Hope ruin his chance!
Eleanor made a rookie mistake. Sure, Limuel did a good job hiding himself to anyone, but as stated, the enchantress' power can reverse any kind of spell. Sadly, the female vampire forgot to seal Limuel's spell after tracking his location—rendering the existence of Hope's twin visible to anyone.
"A-Ah!" Eleanor cries.
Sage is too busy staring at the love of his life to make sure that she's okay that he didn't notice Limuel's attack.
"Ignis!" The succomber shouts. It's a magical word that translates to fire. Sage's body then starts burning.
"Ignis berhenti!" Hope stops her sibling's trick.
"b***h!" Limuel turns his attention to the witch. He abruptly jumps at her.
"Neviditelný!" Hope whines—making herself invisible. This angers the succomber more.
"I will f*****g kill you!" Limuel gives a roar of rage.
"Not if I kill you first!" Hope reappears behind the succomber. She pushes him to the ground.
"Espiritu comen!" Limuel keeps on struggling because the words Hope just uttered are used to call the real spirit of Limuel. The witch is forcing her brother to take over his body. He might win if he fights hard; this is his body after all.
"Limuel, please! Fight it!" Hope yelps in pain. She just needs him to show up even for a few seconds since she's too weak to fight the succomber.
"H-Hope..." Limuel cries.
"Brother! Is that really you?" The witch's body tremors. Please, please, let this be Limuel!
"It's me," the twin brother says weakly. He isn't struggling to get away anymore.
Hope sighs in relief and then she looks at Sage who's still lying on the ground.
"Sage! Shoot my brother!" She demands. She only has a few seconds before the succomber takes Limuel's body again!
"Fuck..." The ruthless vampire groans in pain. Still, he tries his best to aim the gun at Limuel.
"You're all so f*****g stupid!"
Sage drops the gun when the bullet hits Hope.
Limuel smirks. The witch is gullible enough to believe that his brother has the courage to take over his body. The real Limuel is greedy, but he is a coward. He can't even fight even though the odds are in his favor.
"Not as stupid as you." As soon as Eleanor regains her energy, she instantly super speeds to get her hands on the magical gun.
The enchantress shoots Limuel. One shot. Two shots. Three shots—she didn't stop until she runs out of bullet.
"This is my fight. You shouldn't have gotten involved." Eleanor blows away the gun smoke from the barrel after shooting helpless Limuel.
The succomber's power is finally suspended.
"And why the f**k did you shoot me when you could've just shot this f*****g i***t!" She points at the succomber.
Sage grits his teeth together.
"Because I know you'll get in my way."
"Says who?" Eleanor furrows her brow.
"Seriously?" Her ex-boyfriend huffs in frustration. "You said you want to turn him into a vampire slush warlock!"
That's the reason why he shot Eleanor. He is aware that she is a powerful creature, Sage needs to take down the strongest opponent in able to wrap things up quickly.
"Because I want to make him my slave!"
Eleanor is thinking about performing the tether spell. This is Limuel's punishment for irritating the enchantress. His proposal is good, actually. She can rule the world and kill anyone. Eleanor can achieve these things easily if she has a loyal dog.
"You can't do that! He's Hope's brother!" Sage screams, his eyes are bloodshot because of frustration.
Eleanor saw it. The ruthless vampire is angry at her. The billion stars in his eyes turn into ashes. He's not going to tolerate her mess anymore.
Eleanor glares at the vampire.
"Why should I care about that witch, huh?" Green. She's seeing green again. She's jealous because he cares for Hope. He wishes her happiness.
"You ruined me, Sage." Eleanor's breathing is labored.
"You took away my life." He traumatized her and then he manipulated her to love him. When she's head over hills at him, he killed her. Now that she's building a new life, he came back to ruin her again.
Eleanor hates it. She despises the fact that it's so easy for him to break her walls.
She lets go of it. She lets him in again easily for the reason that he promised to stay by her side. To be bad together, but instead of fulfilling his promise, he's out here helping a mere mortal.
What a load of crap.
"Making her happy makes you happy too, right?" Eleanor sits on the floor beside Limuel's body.
The succomber is half conscious. It'll take long hours before he regains his power.
"Watch me strip away that happiness."
Happiness, for Eleanor, is no longer reaching the bliss without reason. Happiness, as of this moment, is taking away someone else's happiness because she knows that whatever she does, she won't be half as happy as Hope will be.
"Mikasa rendiso estuweda!" Eleanor is performing a spell.
Sage panics.
"Eleanor, what are you doing!?"
She didn't answer, instead she continues chanting foreign words. Limuel's body is turning blue.
"N-No..." Hope says breathlessly. She's slowly regaining her power.
"S-Sage, you have to stop her!" Hope begs. Her face is so pale because of fear.
The ruthless vampire goes near the witch. He helps her stand up.
Hope cries even harder.
"Sage! I-I can't make her stop!" She's striving to stop Ellie's spell, but the enchantress block any fabrication directed at Limuel.
Sage slightly pinches Hope's hand to get her attention.
Eleanor is too absorbed in her magic that she failed to notice Sage and Hope making a plan. She failed to see the witch performs a magic trick too. She failed to see Sage handing her heart to Hope.
"Gevoel unir!" Hope uses all of her energy to reunite Eleanor with her heart.
"No!" Hope and the enchantress scream at the same time.
Tears fall down the witch's eyes when Eleanor tears off Limuel's head—permanently killing Limuel and the succomber's spirits.
Hope was too late. Eleanor isn't heartless anymore—making her feel things. Good, bad, best, worst. All emotions are drowning the enchantress the moment her heart is reattached to her body.
Hope was too late. She thought that when Eleanor isn't heartless anymore, she would feel even the slightest guilt and empathy.
But she didn't.
She didn't because Hope was too late. Limuel was right. Hope is weak. It took her a lot of time to perform the spell.
She was too late. Memories from years ago haunt her again. Hope failed to perform the spell to save her parents. The same thing happened to Limuel.
"Limuel..." Hope clutches her aching chest. The detached head of her twin brother is staring at her—his dead eyes are accusing, like this all happened because she was a fool.
"Limuel!" She wails again.
It hurts. It hurts so bad.
Nothing can take away the pain. Not even Sage's warm embrace can ease the pain.
Nothing is enough...
