The start.
He is rich, she is just a girl with the dream of being a model.
Their story starts 4 years ago. They found themselves arranged by their parents into an arranged marriage. The wedding was grand as ever as any family member of the Hiu's would have it.
Wen Hiu at 20 years old, was ready to take over the company within a few months. When a mysterious girl appeared in his life ready to take the job as his assistant, but when Sir Lee Hiu who was just visiting the office that day found out the background of the girl whose resume was sitting on Wen Hiu's desk, he realized her surname Cheng, and her name Lilly matched up with the name of the people's daughter his grandson was to betroth. While also her looks from her resume photo looked very familiar to the family that saved his daughter-in-law from a robbery on that faithful day 20 something years ago.
Sir Lee Hiu, in awe of the coincidence of a certain resume hitting Wen Hiu's desk he found himself going home and doing more research about the girl. He was able to pull up several articles about Lily Cheng, a model on the rising. One article he found most interesting was the interview with her parents and sure enough, he was correct the parents, of Lily Cheng, was indeed the saviors of his daughter-in-law's life on that faithful day.
Sir Lee Hiu, now is sure as ever that Lily Cheng will be Wen Hiu's wife. Mr.Lee Hiu called Wen into his office and explained his findings. Wen got upset. He said "Grandfather, it's so old-fashioned to be still doing arranged-marriages. Besides, the girl might not even want to get married." Wen a very famously known playboy at that point was not ready to settle and he has been very obliging to his grandfather whenever he asked, but this time it was too far.
"Grand-dad, this is my marriage you are talking about. It's not something to play with."
"Yes, grandson, you are right, this is considered unheard of in your time, but I believe it to be very incidental that I happened to find the resume of Lily Cheng right on your desk the day I came to visit."
"Grand-dad, please. I don't know what else to say. This is my life, you are talking about!"
Sir Lee Hiu, by that time, was very furious with his grandson talking back and decided to give him an ultimatum. "If you don't want to marry her, I will disinherit you, and at the same time, you will not be CEO of the company. But if you give the marriage a try, we can discuss this again later on in time, 5 years from now.
Wen Lee, grumbled and felt there was no way to talk any sense into his grand-dad, so he decided to oblige. "Okay!" raising his hands in frustration. "We'll give this a try."

So from there, the conversation went, but while this was all happening on Lily's side there was even more mishap happening. Lily had known that her mom was incredibility ill and was freaking out and had decided to take a job at a cafe even with her Masters in Business Administration. During the nights she would apply to numerous jobs and as many as she could so she grab a second job. Hence the resume on the desk of a CEO's office. In fact, she had sent out tons and tons of resumes. Personalized resumes that she would personally revamp every time to fit the companies detailed job descriptions.
The resume hitting Hiu Corporation, might seemed to be coincidental in Sir Lee Hiu's view, but to Lily, she was just trying to pay the bills for her mom.
They haven't even been to the hospital to diagnose her because her mom didn't have any insurance and the fees were ridiculously high for scans.
As Lily walked home on a cold night, she got to the doorstep to find a really expensive car at their front driveway. Lily was so confused. She thought, "Who do mom and dad know that could be this rich?"
As she brought out her key to unlock the door, someone had beat her to it. "Hey Lily, finally you are home! We and the guests have been waiting for your arrival for quite some time now."
"Dad!" Lily said in an exasperated sigh. "You know my job ends late! Why would you let people wait for me?"
Before her dad could reply, a very dominant voice said, "We decided to wait, it was by no fault of your father's."
Lily quickly took off her shoes and curiously walked fast into the living room. She was ultra confused. In her mind, there were two strange men sitting in her living room with a room full of dominance radiating from them. One was younger, really young and the other was around the '70s.
"Hi! Sounds like you two were waiting for me. Please tell me the cause of this... visit." Lily says in as polite of a tone she could muster since she has been up since 5 am and it's 10 pm already.
Hi Lily, so 20 years ago your dad, and I made an agreement to connect our two families together if it turned out you two were one boy, and one girl, and it just so happens we have found you and your family. Sir Lee Hiu says.
Lily looks at her parents in disbelief. "I'm so exhausted, am I dreaming right now?" after a deep breath she says, "Wow I didn't even know arranged marriages are even still a thing!"
Sir Lee Hiu starts again with, "Usually in more regarded families this is something that parents would do, but when we decided this it was 20 years ago and we had no idea we would be one of the most regarded and respected families in China. Lily we would love for you and Wen to marry and connect our families."
"I need some time to think. I'm so exhausted from my day at the cafe and now this news is just... a lot. I'm just feeling a little overwhelmed. Let's have this conversation another day."
Sir Lee Hiu, a little upset a younger person is dismissing him, says, "Very well, I also noticed you sent in a resume to Hiu Corporation. We would like to extend you the opportunity to be Wen's assistant."
After a few moments, Wen looked up incredulously, "Grand-dad! We can't just give one of the most important jobs at the company to someone that we barely know, and we don't even know if she qualifies!"
Lily, giving Wen a look of surprise, checked out the young gentleman with black hair, and very dashing looks. She was immediately flushed. She thought, "This dashing guy is supposedly going to be my husband?" After a second she realizes what he had just said, "I am willing to give it a trial run, but money is really tight right now, so I will have to work two jobs."
"Nonsense! We will take care of the financials. We are family now." Sir Lee Hiu said.
Lily amazed and flabbergasted thought, "Who is this family? How are they just showing up at our door, demanding me to marry their son and is willing to take care of all the finances?"
