Chapter 1
The ambulance is driving away with my best friend, my baby brother. My mother pulls me back from trying to go with, throws me over her shoulders and whispers into my ear in a menacing voice "you will never see him again!" and she was right, that day was the last time I ever saw my little brother alive.
3 days after my baby brother Joshua was taken by ambulance I am outside my mother's house I live with my grandma now 3 doors down from my mother and brothers I am outside playing with my cousins more like being bullied but what is the difference? right? it was a nice sunny day in milgarejo, Paraguay where we currently live but out of nowhere it starts to downpour, thunder and lightning crashing as I run inside my mother's house the phone rings and I answer...
it was a nurse at the hospital all she said was "he is dead" and hangs up... my world comes crashing down all around me as I scream and the maid comes running not my mother of course she could never be bothered, as she rushed in to see what was going on all she finds is 9 year old me on the cold tile floor crying and kicking and screaming like I was fighting someone or something but no I was not fighting just feeling the loss of the only person who seemed to ever care about me. I was born in Arizona as we're most of my brothers I have 2 older half brothers and 1 little brother who is everything to me he was born with cystic fibrosis and wasn't supposed to live to see his first birthday, but he did. I took care of Joshua my baby brother his whole life I did his nebulizer treatments ECT. my mother seemed to always dismiss our existence. When I was about 2 or 3 my brother Joshua made it past the 1 year marker he was never supposed to get to and our father walked in one day after work and said pack it up we are moving to Paraguay with your grandparents! And off we went my mother tina my father mark my older half brothers in birth order Eric and Jason myself and my baby brother Joshua all loaded up in the green pinto that my parents drove and we drove to Florida to meet our aunt and uncle then to the Orlando airport to head to Paraguay they didn't even bother trying to teach us Spanish but me and Joshua were young enough it didn't matter too much and the older boys well they would learn from experience just like me and Josh! My father was in the air force until I was born my mother was my older brothers babysitter my father mark would not be living in Paraguay with us but getting us there then coming back to America and will only visit once or twice a year.... all because my older brothers mom was getting close to finding them.....
