Audrey's Pov "Audrey, there are a lot of guest rooms. You can choose any unless you want to stay with Chloe or Connor." My eyes widened at the thought of sharing a room with Connor. Why would that even be an option? "She'll stay with-," I stopped my mother before she could answer for me. Knowing her she would tell me to go with Connor. "C-chloe, I'll stay with Chloe," I said. Although Lauren seemed disappointed by my answer, I stood by it. "Okay then, Chloe, sweetheart, why don't you show Audrey your room?" I nod and Chloe guides me towards her room even though I've already been there. "Where am I sleeping?" I asked. "The couch? Floor? I don't care as long as we aren't sharing the bed." She carefully sat on the bed and watched my every move like she was testing me or something. "Okay," I muttered and sat on the same chair that I sat on earlier. "Why do you always listen? Why do you always agree? Don't you ever say your own opinion?" she asked. Shrugging, I answered, "Your room, your rules. And I don't want to fight or argue with you. Creates less problems." I felt more relaxed knowing that I won't have people upset with me or hate me. "It isn't a good thing, you know." She got up and opened her cupboard to give me a spare pillow and blanket. "I know," I muttered. "I've said what I needed to say, whether you comply or not is your problem." She rolled her eyes and threw the blanket and pillow at me. These twins will be the death of me. "Oh and don't bother me unless you're dying." What should I do then? I get up and look around to find a door that opens to the balcony. She has a balcony? I was about to ask her, but decided not to because she'd get annoyed with me. I opened the door and the fresh breeze refreshed me. Chloe's balcony was connected to Connor's room. I could hear the waves of the beach that is not too far from their house. I look down from the balcony and wonder how Sarah got up here because the balcony is on the second floor. Shaking my thoughts away, I sit down on my chair and close my eyes. I wish I could stay like this. "Very calming isn't it." Not turning around to see who it is I hum in response. I could hear Connor's footsteps creeping closer to me. He sat down in the chair that was next to me and looked up at the sky. "I'm not here to bond with you so don't misunderstand." Connor explained. "Ok," I said. "If I gave you the intention that we are friends, well we aren't," he continued. "Ok," I said. "Don't you even think that I like yo-" I cut Connor off and face towards him and sighed. "What do you want, Connor?" I asked. I already knew that we meant nothing to each other but why does he have to establish it every five seconds? "You're too nice." He gruffly said and looked away. "Connor, what are you talking about?" I asked him. "You're making this harder for me than it already is." He brushes his hair through his hair frustrated. What is he talking about? I wanted to ask him again, but it's pointless because this conversation will get me nowhere. I looked back at the view and felt a couple drops his face and within seconds it turned into rain. "s**t, it's raining." He got up quickly and ran towards his room and opened it. Then he came back in the rain telling me how I'll get sick, but then I grabbed his arm and danced in the rain. Then, we kissed like the world ended. Scratch that, I ran towards Chloe's door to find it locked. The curtains were pulled down so that she couldn't see me. I banged on her door a couple of times but she didn't come out. I sat down on the chair and enjoyed the rain pouring down, soaking me up. "What are you doing out there? You'll get sick," he yelled out. Remember, Audrey, he doesn't care about you and he never will. To him, I am just a person who came into his life and messed everything up for him. "I'm okay," I said. "No it's not you're shivering." I didn't realize that my teeth were clenching and my body was shaking uncontrollably. "Can you tell Chloe to open her door, I whispered. "No," he said angrily. He's so confusing and I have to stay away from him, scratch that, I-I need to I know that I am falling deep for him. I know I like him and the more that I'm around him the feelings that I have for him are only growing stronger. "It's not, really, I'm fine. Ju-just go. Please just go," I pleaded. I shook my head back and forth until it got harder for me to move. My fingers were trembling but I couldn't feel them due to them being numb. My clothes felt heavy and the rain clouded my eyes as it harshly came down. "Fine." I watched the rain try to cleanse the town but no matter how much it wants the appearance to look good. It will always be dirty even washing it all away. You can see how damage one can be and as each second passed by the rain slowly rained harder. This town represents me because no matter how much I try I'll always be damaged. I try to get rid of my flaws but it'll only come back harder and bring more flaws to me. I felt someone pick my lifeless body up. "You're so stubborn." I cuddled deeper into him taking the warmth from him as he held me close to him. Once we were in his room, he tried to set me down, but I clung onto him. "You're so light, don't you eat?'' he asked. His hand touched my forehead and muttered something about it being burning. I felt him shuffle around and he finally sat down and wrapped me with a towel. I tried to move away from him but he made me sit down on his lap. Each leg either side of him as he pressed his hand on my back bringing me closer to him. "Let me go," I whispered. He put a smaller version of a towel on my head and shuffled around it a bit drying my hair. He grabbed both ends of the small towel and pulled me towards his face. "Are you sure?" I felt his warm breath fanning against my face. He set both hands and either sides of my face and smiled. "Yes." My voice shook as he brought me closer to him holding me tightly. I felt his head against mine giving me warmth to my cold body. "I don't want to let you go though." He hid his face in the crook of my neck heating my body all over. What is he doing to me? My breathing got heavy as I tried to stop him. "Connor," I breathed out but he didn't budge; he held me close to him. Our heartbeats met and were beating together making music to our ears. Does that mean he feels the same way? I held onto his shoulders trying to keep some distance between the both of us. I heard a thud by the door, but didn't turn around because I couldn't but it sounded as if someone closed the door. He looked at me with the same emotion that I couldn't figure out. Thud. Ouch, he threw me off the bed. "I don't understand," I asked him. "It's all an act. My mother was standing by the door and so I wanted her to think that everything is okay. If we are going to stop this marriage, we have to do this in secret. If my mother finds out about this, she will stop us from doing so and retaliate on what we are doing." I needed to get a hold of myself, I bit my lip keeping the tears in and nodded. He looked at me with guilt, but covered it up right away. "s**t," he muttered. His eyes were teary and his jaw clenched tightly. I think it's time for me to go. I got up ready to leave, but he stopped me. "Stay, they think that you are with me." I nodded. It was the right thing to do. I already feel guilty by the fact that I like him because he was never mine to begin with. "Okay, but can I borrow some clothes and take a shower?" I asked. I was freezing cold and me standing here isn't making it even better. "Sure," he said and gave me a hoodie with joggers. He could have asked Chloe for clothes, but he didn't. He gave me another clean towel and made my way inside the bathroom. I took a shower I couldn't help, but think about Connor. Why am I still thinking about him? Why can't I just forget him? These thoughts shouldn't be coming in my head like this. I got off the shower and changed into his clothes, which were really big on me, and it smelled just like him. An unwanted smile made its way on my face as I looked at the clothes he gave me. I opened the door to find Sarah here and to see Connor shirtless? "I was changing, Sarah," Connor explained, but Sarah shook her head in a no manner. "You are lying an-" She stopped talking when her eyes met my own. She looked at Connor's appearance and mine and her eyes widened realizing something? "I knew you were cheating on me! How could you look at her clothes and you and-" She looked around frantically as her breathing got heavy. "Sarah, it's not what it looks like. Let me explain-" Connor reached out to stop away, but she moved away from his hold. He tried to calm her down, but she squirmed out of his hold. She walked towards the table and grabbed the vase and threw it in my direction. It hit the floor in front of me missing me and Connor's eyes widened in surprise. "Sarah, are you out of your mind?" Connor yelled out. "Connor, calm down your parents will come up any minute," I whispered trying to ease them. He nodded and calmed down and Sarah chuckled. "Of course you'd listen to her. I mean why wouldn't you?" she snickered and grabbed the other the smaller vase on the table, but Connor stopped her. "Throwing things won't solve our problems. You need to listen to me." He grabbed her wrist, stopping her, but she struggled and she threw the vase. Connor tried to stop her, but he was too late. The vase hit my head, the vase shattered as it hit my head. I held onto my head as I heard a ringing noise. Someone yelled out my name, but my body laid down on the floor lifelessly as the darkness overtook me.
