Chapter Eighteen

1204 Words
Audrey POV I felt someone grab my hand tightly as they cried. The head pounded, giving pain, what happened? I slowly opened my eyes to find Sarah holding my hand tightly as she shook back and forth. She said the same thing over and over again worrying me. "She's ok. She's ok. She's ok. She's ok. She's ok. She's ok. She's ok..." I watch her as she holds my hand against the side of her cheek and silently cries. I shifted a little as the pounding in my head decreased. She whipped her head forward realizing that I was finally awake. She caressed the side of my face looking at my head for the injury. I whimpered as I felt the stinging and she quickly let go of me and said she is sorry. "It's all my fault, Connor. She is hurt because of me because of me. What am I going to do? She's going to leave me. I know she is. Connor this is all my fault." She cried and Connor bent down trying to calm her, but she continued to cry. "Sarah, look at me." She ignored Connor and continued to mutter things under her breath. What's going on with Sarah? Connor got up leaving Sarah and walked out of the room. "Hey." I reached out for her hand, she flinched and quickly stood up. She looked at me confused and her surroundings as she wiped her tears away. Suddenly she was angry. It's like she snapped back into reality. Her eyes were glaring right into my own scaring me. "Okay, they're gone," Connor said and came back inside. "Don't touch me you freak I was just messing with you. This was all fake, it was my intention to hit to knock some sense into you," she spat and a step forward laughing. "I only did this to show Connor's parents that I 'accidentally' tripped you and you broke the vase as you fell down. I came here with the excuse of sleeping over with Chloe. Don't think I regret what I did because you deserved it." How can that be? The expression on her face seemed too real for it to be fake. I didn't think that she was lying this whole entire time. The mess was cleared up and gone and my forehead was bandaged. I must have been out for a long time because I don't remember much. "Now get up and sit somewhere else," Sarah spat as she held onto Connor's hand. I looked at Connor to see if he'd say something, but he didn't show any emotion at all. I got up and whimpered a little, my sides were still slightly hurting and my head was. Connor grabbed my arm steadying me but Sarah grabbed his arm, pulling it away from mine. I felt my eyes tear up a little as I got out of the bed gruffly. I walked towards the other side of the room and finally sat down on the chair. My surroundings blurred and I put my head against the wall for support. I looked over to see Sarah cuddled up against Connor, watching a movie. It hurt to see them together but I couldn't do anything about it even if I wanted to. While Connor on the other hand wasn't watching the movie, but me instead. I thought that he'd look away after I caught him staring at me but he didn't. My phone rang, it was Aaron I picked it up and the first thing I heard was screaming. "Hey, Audrey. I need your help! They are trying to kill me. I am in the bathroom shower and I locked the door and there is no way out," he said nervously. I could hear the knocking from the other side as he breathed heavily. "And I have to use the bathroom but I'm scared that they'll attack me while I'm using the bathroom." I re positioned my seat slightly, feeling uncomfortable and laughed. The pain in my head didn't go away, it only got worse. "Sorry, but you probably deserve it, what did you even do?" I asked. "I kind of accidently dumped powder with eggs on them. I mean I didn't do it on purpose or anything, they were just there and now they are trying to kill me." I rolled my eyes. He does deserve it because the last time he threw a bucket of water on me, his whole house got flooded with water. "I see," I said. "That's all you're going to say? I thought you were my best friend. Come on please help me!" he said in a high-pitched voice, mocking other girls that talk this way. I laughed once again not holding it in. My sides were giving me pain but I ignored it; I heard something fall on the ground. I turned around to find an angry Connor. He picked up the pillow that was on the ground. His eyes met mine and he glared at me with deep hatred. This boy and his mood swings will be the death of me. "Look Aaron, it's okay if they kill you. What would you like at your funeral?" I asked jokingly. "You're so rude. Watch, I will come back and haunt each and everyone you just wait!" he said and suddenly it got quiet. "Is everything okay?" I asked. "I think they opened the door," he whispered. "Are you sure-" I heard a scream and I guess he was right. "Ahhhh." I heard him yell out and I can imagine him running around the whole house with Jake and Ryder behind him. Someone snatched my phone and ended the call. I look up to see Connor standing in front of me angrily. I raised my eyebrows at him and looked around for Sarah. She must have left because I couldn't see her anywhere unless she went to the bathroom. "I've been calling you for the past five minutes." Not again, I must have gone into block mode where I block everyone out of my life. "I was on the call with Aa-nevermind, where is Sarah?" I asked. He gave me my phone back. "If you weren't on the phone you would've known. She's in Chloe's room right now. My mom came back to check on me and so she went through the balcony and into Sarah's room," he explained and I nodded. "Sarah and I dealt with it alone while you were on the phone." Why is he mad at me? It was his problem and he dealt with it. He shouldn't make a big deal out of it because the problem had already been solved. I couldn't control my anger so I stood up and asked. "Why are you mad?" My head pounded as if the vase wasn't enough. A rush of anger fueled inside of me, angering me by the second. Nothing could stop me now even if I tried to because knowing me I could do something without thinking and hurt someone even if I didn't want to. I've been hanging out with Aaron way too much. He says that anger solves anything. He told me to be more confident and he's helping me on that and it's helping. It seems like Connor likes getting angry, it's more of a hobby for him than a habit. "We need to talk," Connor said.
