Lydia left Trevor there playing ball and went to my job interview at the local café. I arrived a few minutes early and told the front cashier that I was here for an interview and she asked if I wanted anything to drink. I nodded and ordered just a bottle of water. And took it and sat down at one of the tables while I waited. I kept thinking about the Halloween dance coming up. Lydia was so excited. She had already ordered her costume online and made sure it was on express delivery. I couldn’t wait to see Trevor dressed up at Antony. She was so lost in thought and she didn’t realize that a lady was there in the other seat in front of her. “I am so sorry. I was in a trance there for moment. Hi, I’m Lydia Wilson. I came for the interview.” The woman smiled and laughed a little. “I already like you. I am Chloe Riggins. I own this place. I’m to have to have this interview here on a Sunday but I’m sure you heard I only come here on Sundays. So, how old are you?” Lydia smiled, “It’s quite alright, I am 16. We just moved here during the summer. My dad is a contractor working at the new place across town. My mom got a job at the local clinic.” Chloe nodded and asked, “Alright so when can you start working? We are down a couple servers so, I know you are going to school and everything. I can give you an after-school job and some weekends. Would that suit you?” Lydia smiled so big and nodded her head. “That would be perfect. I do have a request though. I need Saturday off. I got a dance to go and I had already made promises to attend. I could start next Monday? I got make sure my parents know I got a job and everything.” Chloe held her hand out and Lydia took it in hers and shook it, while Chloe said, “Of course, that sounds reasonable. If you want to you could come in Sunday for a couple hours to shadow some people. Give you an idea of how things go here.” Lydia finished shaking her hand and smiled at her and agreed to come Sunday.
When she finally made it home, she got to her room and pulled her phone out and texted Trevor. “Hi, Handsome guess what? I got the job at the café. I am so excited. How was the game after I left?” Then she hit send. She went to the bathroom and done her business and wash up a little. She came back with a notification saying she had a unread message. She picked up and opened her messages and send it was Trevor. She smiled. “Hi, Beautiful, I am so happy for you. I knew you could get it. So, is this going to cut into our time together? I really am going to miss you.” Lydia laughed a little at that. “Well, we will definitely find time to be with each other. I promise. (kissy emoji) I got get dinner ready for my parents. I promised to cook tonight. My famous spaghetti.” Trevor replied back rather quickly, “As long as you promise to keep me company some times then I am happy. Now go cook. Ill call you later. I love you.” Lydia’s heart felt warm and happy at that. She knew that it was early in their relationship to be saying the three-word phrase but she knew that she loved him too. “I love you.”
She went downstairs to start dinner. She grabbed her phone to listen to music while cooking. While listening to music and cooking, she didn’t realize that her mother had came home. She turned around and nearly dropped her spoon. “Gah, Mom scare me why don’t you.” Her mom laughed at her, “You got some hot moves there girlfriend. I couldn’t help but stand here and admire my daughter, you definitely take after your father with the dancing. Is dinner almost ready? I am starving and it smell delicious.” Her mother came over to her and kissed her cheek. Lydia laughed at her. “Yeah it’s almost done. I got to heat up the bread. Where’s daddy?” As soon as she asked, he walked through the door. “Speak of the devil.” Her mother said. Mr. Wilson came into the kitchen and kissed both her and her mother’s cheeks. “It does smell delicious, Lydia. Thank you for cooking.” Lydia smiled at him and said, “It’s no problem, I know you guys are busy. I wanted to tell you guys something. I got a job today at the local café in town. I start next Monday.” Her mom and dad gave her a hug and said that she is proud of her. After dinner she went back upstairs and got ready for bed and done some homework before calling Trevor. She absolutely loved falling asleep listening to his voice or his breathing. They talked for several hours at a time each night. Just talking about anything and everything
