Stephanie’s point of view.
The next morning, Gwen arranged everything Stephanie would need to travel. Stephanie was just coming out of the Bathroom when she spotted Gwen sitting on her bed clenching her walking stick with her.
“Good morning Gwen. Of what do I owe this visit” Stephanie said, dampening her hair with a towel. Gwen made a grump sound before speaking “remember what I told you Steph, you're Ava. You're an orphan and want to work there. Okay?” Gwen paused and turned to Linda to signal her to bring a bag.
“No one knows about you. I know how you need to get your revenge but there's only little I can do. Be safe” was all she said before she got up and left her alone, leaving the bag on the bed.
Two hours later, Stephanie was ready to set out on her journey. She felt fear gripping her. Her mission was a very dangerous one because Unaliving Liam, who is the most feared man in the state and taking his child, technically her child away. “It's a mission of life and death. And I'm not wasting this opportunity. I must give it my all” she encouraged herself before stepping out the woods.
Gwen had shown her a route where she would follow, a short path to the black wood pack. And she had been keeping streak for half an hour.
“I'm exhausted. I should sit for a while” Stephanie said to herself and sat on a broken tree branch. Not long had she sat when she began hearing a low growl coming from the right.
“What was that?” She whispered to herself as she became cautious of her surroundings. The noise became loudly and from the sound of it, she figured it was a wolf. Stephanie grabbed her small bag and was about to make a run for it when the beast jumped out of nowhere and blocked her path. Wolf had a black fur and its red eyes intimidated Stephanie as Tried to make an escape but every step she took it blocked her.
“Oh, no. Am I going to die like this? The second time? I don't want to die. I don't want to die” she repeated to herself as she began bawling.
“What is this? Why am I crying?” Stephanie questioned herself as she continued wailing. But the wolf wasn't buying it and it moved closer to her ready to pounce on her. Immediately it leapt forward to attack her, Stephanie raised her hands to cover her face expecting to be eaten alive. After a while, she couldn't feel the Wolves' presence. She peaked through her opened finger and saw a man standing In front of her. “Who's this?” She asked rhetorically, lowering her hands.
As she stood behind his back, she noticed his domineering presence and figured he was an alpha. “I should run for it while they're both distracted” and with that, she began taking a few steps backwards. She had just taken one step when her saviour turned to her and spoke in a low growl “Don't you dare run” he commanded, his voice sending shivers down her spine.
“What are you doing in my territory?” The mysterious man asked the wolf. But no reply. “Wolves can talk in this state, so why isn't he saying anything?” Stephanie asked herself.
“Answer me!” The man bellowed, making both the wolf and Stephanie flinch. But no reply.
“I hate people wasting my time. Levi take them to the dungeon until they're ready to talk” The mysterious Alpha commanded as he began retreating but Stephanie was still wondering what he looked like, having a voice like that and a broad shoulder. Must be very attractive, she thought.
“Come on let's go” the Levi in question came closer and was about to take Stephanie when she stumped on his toe hard and ran for her life.
She heard the Alpha yell “After her!” Behind her but she continued the pace with no sign of stopping soon.
She tried transforming to her wolf but was finding it difficult to. “Why can't I transform? Dammit!” She groaned frustratedly.
“I'm sorry, I can't transform” she heard her wolf speak in a low apologetic tone.
“Great. I have a weak body and I can't even transform” she spewed sarcastically while running and soon her legs collided with an unseen twig making her fall down flat with a thud.
“Ow” she whined “please get up” she said to herself as she began crawling but it was too late. She felt a hand yanking her up and holding her by the shirt “you little piece of trash. So you think you can escape?” Levi caught up to her and held her by the shirt. His face was inches from her and she felt his hot breathing on her face.
“Let me go, please” Stephanie pleaded but Levi turned deaf ears as he practically dragged her back to his alpha, tossing her at his feet.
She stared at his boots before travelling to his face and that was when she met him… Liam!
“You think you can run away from me, pig?” Liam's cold tone struck in her instilling fear in her. “He hasn't changed one bit” she noted while trying to avoid his gaze.
“I wasn't trying to run,” Stephanie began. “So why did you run then?” He asked “I asked you to not move but you chose to disobey and I hate when my orders are not being followed”
Stephanie was still avoiding his gaze when he forcefully yanked her face , making both of their eyes to lock
Liam starred in her deep ocean blue eyes, something about the eyes made him uneasy and he averted immediately.
“Cuff her and take…” before Liam could finish his sentence, Stephanie spoke”please. I was coming to the Blackwood pack because I heard the Alpha is in need of a Nanny for his son. And I want to apply” she finished her sentence.
Liam stayed quiet for a while before saying “I don't accept Rogue into my house” he said and turned but Stephanie stopped him by grabbing his arms. “I'll prove my worth to you. Please don't push me away” she said, hoping to convince him. If she had learnt anything, Liam likes when someone tries to impress him, someone vulnerable and is willing to subject themselves him.And that was her beginning to make him fall for her.
“I'll do whatever you want. Please take me in” she said with teary eyes.
