CHAPTER EIGHT THEY TOOK THEIR time getting to Faerie Dust, browsing in the gift shops and specialty stores lining River Street. As the night progressed, shoppers disappeared, and more partiers poured themselves onto the sidewalk. People cruised down the one-way street at ten miles per hour, but Kelly never understood the appeal. The cobblestone road wasn’t the most comfortable thing to drive on and between dodging tour trolleys and pedestrians walking without looking, it just wasn’t worth the hassle to see what was happening or to be noticed. It was a lot to put up with, just to look cool for a few minutes. Jasmine hadn’t questioned Kelly any more on her motives for raising Jared from the dead on Halloween. Still, what she said was enough to give Kelly something to think about, however.
