“What happened, Al?” I ask, trying not to sound too grim. I mask the fear in my voice, but it’s difficult.
“I don’t know,” Alex says. He reaches for his pockets, taking out the stones. “He gave me this. When I came to, I’m suddenly here.”
I look up at Aunt Luna. “Did you know he will do this?”
She shakes her head. “The stones are meant to be his anchor. He must’ve realized he can anchor Alex instead.”
“He didn’t tell you guys because you wouldn’t have let him,” Alex says, looking at my hands. “I wouldn’t have, either.”
“Did he say he has a plan?” Finn asks.
