I’m glued to my seat as I watch Alex fill the tub with more ice. Zander’s plan is dangerous. It’s a gamble with death.
But it’s not like we have other options. Lance has gone with the authorities, island hopping around Phuket. That could take a day, and as Alex said, we don’t have that liberty.
“Finn, for god’s sake!” Alex yells at me. “Help me here.”
I stand, hauling another bag of ice and dropping the cubes into the tub.
Alex takes a deep breath, planting his hands on his hips. “Finn, I need you. Please don’t be like this.”
I close my eyes. When did I ever say no to him? “I don’t want to lose you again, Al. I can’t bear it.”
“Are you saying we should just abandon Zander out there?”
“Of course not.”
“We can’t be together, Finn, not really. Not while I’m in his body.”
