"I just need a guy who's willing to try. That guy will be above God for me, because he'll be doing that for me, and only me! Having a boyfriend who doesn't have the guts to claim your love in front of the world itself proves that his love will not be forever! He's totally showing that he's not the worth!"
Kavya and Arpita kept looking at her with a weird expression. They were quite impressed with the way Nidhi portrayed her thoughts. She, in a very few words, had explained what any simple girl wants when she thinks she's found the right. But sadly, not everyone gets what they want, desire.
"Maybe, he's just nervous about the whole marriage thing? I was pretty adamant to him for our marriage and he had been stressed out because of me. That's why he's not being able to make the right decision. I know my boyfriend very well!” with conformity, she voiced out feelings.
Nidhi knew her words will not help. So she walked back to her bed and got hold of her phone. Surfing through some photos, she clicked on a certain snap that she had secretly clicked, without anyone's knowledge. "Is he the one whom you know very well??" She showed the photo to Arpita, and she was shocked to see the photo in front of her. Her boyfriend was pulling a girl in his dorm, with just a pair of boxers on. Arpita felt disgusted at the sight and turned her face to the other side.
Nidhi kept the phone back in her pocket and squeezing Arpita's shoulder, she handed her a bottle of water. "Boy's like those should be totally deprived of being handsome, just because they think they have got the looks. If their girlfriend is not up to their beauty, they start treating their partners distastefully and start becoming mean to them. In your case, he's being ignorant of the fact that you both will stay together for the rest of your lives. Maybe that's what you want, and he doesn't. Such a guy will agree to you for the time being but will quickly push you away, the moment he will find someone more attractive than you. It's better that you leave him before he makes the move first."
She saw Arpita lost in her thoughts. Tears were surfacing her eyes and she had her hands tight in a fist. Kavya also had tears in her eyes as she silently agreed to Nidhi's words.
Nidhi knew Arpita had to face the reality in order to move on from her jerk of a boyfriend. "And if you are still adamant about not letting that i***t go, still make the first move. Show him that he is not the only one who can leave you. Even you can. I know this is easy said than done but that's what you should do. As of now, go and tell him about this new guy and see what reaction he gives you. You'll get the reaction and then you only can decide what to do next."
Arpita wiped her tears, determined to follow each and every word Nidhi had said. She walked towards her and gave a bear hug, thankful for finding a Love Counselor in her. Nidhi felt awkward as she kept her hands on Arpita's back and patted it a bit with both of her hands.
"I'm sorry I judged you unnecessarily. You actually have shown me the path for my future. I'll forever be grateful to you for your advice!!"
With determination in her eyes, she walked out, too excited to execute the newly formed plan in her brain. Nidhi returned back to where she was standing, and gazed outside the window, at the full moon.
Kavya felt something was wrong with her, so she walked towards the window, and leaned casually on the railings of the window, observing Nidhi's face from time to time.
"What has happened, Let it out already!" Kavya slowly asked her, her words calculative and crisp. She knew Nidhi was not the person who would like rubbish talks. Whatever she says is always prompt, specific, and to the point. So if she was dealing with her, she had to be like her, and talk like her as well.
One glare was enough to have her expectations die down immediately. She raised her hands in surrender and backed off, scurrying to her bed and switching off the lamp lights.
Nidhi chuckled and next, she found herself walking down the corridors of the college. Though it was a bit too much to trick the watchman, and she found herself turning into a Ninja, sometimes hiding, crawling to hide from the evil eyes of the Watchman.
5 minutes of difficulty landed her in the beautiful scenery. The Terrace. One could see the city pretty clearly. The cold breeze was chilling, but satisfactory at the same time. She released her hair from the confines of the rubber band to let the air seep through her hair, bringing calm and relaxing feelings.
Leaning over the railing, she gazed at the scenery with tears in her eyes. Somehow she was remembered of her mother, and she had only one memory of her. Her mother used to take her to the beach at night so that she could see the beauties of Mother Nature and feel the tranquility of nature and life. She remembered how she would feel all excited at the mention of the beach, and how she would crave the outings after her mother miraculously disappeared.
Tears streamed down her eyes as she had no other memory of her, and she felt betrayed by her mother's abundance.
"The only grief I could share with was with you. But I'm not that lucky to be graced by a Mother's presence and support."
She walked to the other end of the terrace which was under construction and sat down. She removed the only picture of her mother she had and cried some more, lost in her mother's little memories, wishing she could have her warmth with her right now.
She got up and moved over to the edge of the terrace, which had no wall and if she slipped, she'll die instantly. Sometimes she felt that death was a better option than struggling for life with no one by her side, to be with her mother and probably with her father as well, having no care of the world and just be with her parents...
---------------------
Shivam let out a loud sigh as he descended the Bus, after a long journey. Though he owned a bike and loved his bullet to the fullest, sometimes he preferred the bus, so that he could enjoy the beauty of Mother Nature. The swinging trees and furious winds reminded him of his childhood, or we can say he got reminded of this scene whenever he was locked up in his room.
At the petite age of 10, these trees had proved to be a companion to him and had given him a pure message that even after facing all the storms, the trees stand tall, without a care about their environment and the future. This always made him more determined in achieving his goal. This was not acceptable for people who called themselves his ‘family’.
He reached his dorm and dumped his lazy body on his bed. He had been dead tired, but the task in his hand had been left incomplete. He felt frustrated that before even reaching Aryan's hideout place, the boy had miraculously vanished into thin air. He felt suspicious because he knew Karim never gave any false information. He always double-checked and then only confirmed the facts. He himself had checked Aryan's place before informing Shivam about the guy's whereabouts. It was away from Mumbai and Shivam had taken the bus, so that he could directly reach the place, without making any efforts, well giving efforts too.
He got up and plugged his headphones and knew the rooftop was calling out for him. Stuffing the pack of cigarettes was also a reminder that the rooftop was indeed calling out.
Upon reaching the rooftop, he felt strange. He felt as if someone was there, but shrugged the thought. No one would ever dare to come to the deserted place. That much of scared souls resided here. He shook his head to clear his thoughts and settled on a large rock, removing the cigarette from the pack and lighting it, taking large drags and blowing the cloud of smoke, with a large sigh following after.
He felt bad as he stared at the burning hell in his hand. He never wanted to start smoking, his family never accepted the lifestyle he chose, so stubbornly he started this habit as well.
He continued to smoke for the next 10 minutes, staring at his phone, expecting a text from someone whom he had been missing like hell. But he was disappointed yet again when he didn't get any call and a loud, deep sad sigh escape his lips.
Too much for expecting from the people who would never take efforts to understand!
Tucking the phone back in his pocket, from the corner of his eyes, something caught his attention. Probably a silhouette of someone walking close towards the construction part of the terrace with slow steps got him wondering why a person or what the person was actually here for. He threw the remaining cigarette away and made his way towards the person, fearing that the girl might be there with a thought of suicide and he had to be careful enough to not scare her more.
He moved slowly, taking calculated steps frequently rubbing his sweaty palms against his jeans. He had never witnessed someone trying to suicide right in front of his eyes, and having to witness such a scenario was scaring the hell out of him.
Upon reaching more closely, realization struck him and he knew who this person was. Only he didn't know that there will be a time that he will get to find her in a situation like this and that it was the same girl who had been capturing his mind for all the wrong reasons.
Somewhere, his gut feeling voiced out that she might not do something stupid, but there was no guarantee that this stupid girl will have such intelligent thoughts, but could think otherwise as well.
But the next moment, the inevitable happened, and suddenly a ball came flying and crashed right over her head, resulting in her losing her balance and she was about to fall off the terrace, but Shivam acted quickly and got hold of her before she could fall completely. His arms surrounding her waist, she was hanging mid-air as Shivam tried to pull her up with all his might.
"Nidhi, help yourself and push yourself upwards so that I can pull you up. Come on!" He called out to her, as he saw her looking down and her hands trembling badly, but she was making no attempt to pull herself up. He had to deal with the situation as calmly as possible, without giving any strain to the girl hanging in his arms right now.
He didn't get any response so he pinched her waist a bit to attract her attention, which he quickly got as she quickly gasped and looked up, their eyes locking together.
Fear and grief soared on her eyes as he looked deep down in the pool of hazel eyes. There were many emotions swarming in them which she was trying to suppress, but there was a thin string that was holding it back.
Slowly his one hand slipped down and gripped her hips, his hands brushing her a** crack, which made him uncomfortable and she also gasped as she felt her toe curl a little bit and also felt weird shiver suddenly pass through her. With great efforts, he pulled her up, all the while he felt nervous as he could feel her eyes trained at him. With a swift moment, he pulled her completely and they were lying on the ground of the terrace, he had successfully pulled her up and saved her from falling.
Before he could ask her whether she was okay or not, she had already fainted and tears ran down her cheeks. He raised his hand to wipe them, but thought otherwise and withdrew his hand back.
He cursed in his mind for the trouble that lay in front of him. He tried to get a hold of himself as he made an attempt to get up, but accidentally his hand brushed her arm and realized that her body was burning with fever. He quickly checked her forehead. She was indeed having a high fever.
He cursed yet again. He was about to pick her up when he noticed a photo of someone lying under them. He pulled it out and saw a lady in the picture.
What the hell was happening? He somehow picked her up and carried her to his dorm as he didn't know what her room number was. He placed her on his bed and was about to move back, but felt exhausted and he crashed then and there, taking Nidhi into a warm hug without thinking about the consequences.
A red light glowered over them and then click, a picture was captured. But no one saw where it was blinking from.
