Mid 21st century, humans developed and were given ‘sub-genders’ classified into three. Alpha, Beta, and Omega. Humans gained traits that allowed them to form permanent bonds and determine hierarchy. The general public making up majority of society were betas. Average humans who cannot bond and are pretty much like the normal humans from past centuries. They are non sensitive to sub gender pheromones which makes them more complex and unable to form bonds. The alphas, are the ones who govern society. Highly skilled, brilliant and more powerful than any other sub gender. They are promised success and riches the moment they are born. However they periodically undergo rut, an irrational state which makes them vulnerable to any omega pheromone, an aphrodisiac like smell from any omega sub gender that compels an alpha to mate and form permanent bonds that shackles and binds them to each other and only each other. And lastly the omegas. The rarest sub gender of society. Deemed the weakest, yet the most powerful sub gender. Omegas, like normal female humans of the past undergo a period of heat every month. During which they produce pheromones, an aphrodisiac smell that attracts alphas and makes them undergo rut or makes them irrational. It urges alphas to mate and mark the omega to form permanent bonds and getting them pregnant. Regardless of male or female genders, every omega can get pregnant which is why suppressants are made to help manage an omega’s heat. In some relationships, couples perform i*********e where an alpha can mark his or her partner by biting their nape. A less committed way of marking is called knotting, where couples connect much more intimately but only shortly and is highly recommended if wanting to conceive. With the help of sub genders, humans are given higher chances in finding their ‘soulmates’, the person most suited to you if not perfect. The sub gender pheromones makes it easier to pinpoint whoever that person is when in close proximity. Your heart beats faster, your mood becomes bright, you feel hotter and suddenly you get the urge to claim them. A sense of possessiveness possesses you.
