Mario
I left the bar after I made sure my men secured the premises. Natalie wanted me away from her customers. They were afraid of me and I couldn't care less because she was the one I was there for.
Collins and I hit the road, down to the warehouse outside the town. Ever since we came here, I have been busy uprooting the traitors in our organization. The spies who traded with my enemies. Aside from Natalie, my other business was to find the gang leader who was responsible for the death of my brother. My plan is simple get my revenge and take Natalie back Italy.
But finding that motherfucker has proven to be harder than I expected.
“The warehouse is right at the corner. I had Pablo and Logan to interrogate the last spy we caught. He should have made some testimony by now," Collins said, pulling up on the gravel driveway.
The small of abandoned debris and rusty metal swift through the air, rods bent in different shapes with a detail of blood dried on it.
As we approached the inside, an agonizing scream echoed through the dusty walls, vibrating the fragile building a bit.
“I guess he hasn't said anything yet." Collins cleared, as he kicked an abandoned doll aside.
The warehouse looked more like an abandoned hospital than a goods harbor.
Medical equipment old and rusty scattered in different places, beds once clean and warm, moulded with greens and decay.
“I thought you said this was a warehouse," I muttered, matching a burnt doll.
“It is an abandoned warehouse. Formally an asylum for crazy patients. But later turned to an experiment site before it went down," Collins explained as we strode down the hallway.
He stopped at the room where the screams were coming from and held out the door for me to walk in.
Blood dripped out of the captive's head, his neck slouched to side covered in pain veins. They beat him up real good.
“Welcome, boss." Those in the room bowed. Collins acknowledged them while I went further to interrogate the battered guy.
“Has he been able to give an information?" I asked, glaring down on the guy who barely looked twenty.
“His mouth is tight as seal." One of my men answered.
“Is this a kid?" I turned to the guard whose gloves were soak with blood.
“We didn't check, boss. He..."
“Are you stupid?" I roared, cutting him off.
“I am sorry sir." he lowered his head, clutching his hands together.
I closed my eyes hating the sight of the mess they had made. I never touched children. Even if they were involved in a dangerous or Mafia, I counted them out. They still had a long time to live.
“Untie him and find a good doctor to take care of him. Never make this mistake ever again," I warned them coldly before they filed out of the room with the boy.
Once they were gone I turned to Collins. “So you knew nothing about this?" I queried him, annoyed by his negligence.
“I had no idea they brought in a kid. He must have acted like an adult to them. I was with you at the mansion the whole time," he defended himself.
I slightly bit down on my tongue, trying hard not to break out on him. “Just go find something to keep yourself busy, Collins. I need some time alone," I said coldly.
He took his leave and I raked my fingers through my hair. Right now, I needed some kind of distraction.
Natalie doesn't want to see me at her bar. Not after leaving a few hours ago.
“Mario," Collins voice comes through the door and I tilted my head to look at him.
“What do you want?" I grumbled.
“I know you are mad right now. And I am sorry for slacking off with the boys. I have got alcohol with me if you are looking for something to cool off your steam." He flashed a bottle of vodka and I had no choice but to accept his offer.
“Next time you will face a penalty," I said, walking past him.
“Understood."
Collins followed me behind. He doesn't question my threat just followed. Sometimes, I wondered if he never got offended by my words or commands. He just follows every instruction.
“In case you are pondering, Mario. I swore to be on your team which means my loyalty belongs to you. You are a good person and that's why I always follow." I stopped and turned to him.
“I am not a good person, Collins. I just choose to do what benefits me. Don't get my actions wrong." He nodded and brushed past me.
“Yeah, says the man who sent his wife away in order to protect her."
I froze at his words. He knew about it. The reason why I had to send Natalie away that day.
“I don't know what you think of yourself. But one thing I know is that you are a good person and Natalie knows that too. She is just shaken by what happened. I am sure she will come around with time. Also, you are not a scary boss at all. Everyone knows you have a heart that's why they respect you," he muttered casually.
“You better not say this to anyone else or I will crush you." I threatened him but he laughs it off.
“I know. Now, I am afraid you will actually kill me." He joked, touching his chest.
I pinched the center of my brows shaking my head in annoyance. He does know how to get on my nerves.
“Just go, Collins."
“I am serious..."
“If you speak again, I am going to send to Afghanistan." He went silent and continued down the hallway.
A smirk pulled up on my face as I followed him. My phone chimed with a notification. I pulled it out and frowned at the name that appeared on my screen.
The man I hate the most was back and he demands for my presence.
