Mario
My phone rang the moment I was about to thrust my fingers in. I tried to ignore it at first but the consistent buzz meant the call was urgent.
I let Natalie slip away from me. She rushed out of the bed as fast as she could, shooting me a glare before she disappeared into the bathroom.
Once I heard the sound of the shower, I picked up my phone from the drawer and answered the call.
“Mario, I am sorry if I am disrupting anything going between you and Natalie. But your presence is needed downstairs," Collins said over the phone. I ended the call before he could say anything else then went down to meet him.
At the pool lounge, Collins stood firm with his hands tucked into his pants. He was staring at a clear distance when I came to stand beside him. We shared a five minute silence before I broke the quiet.
“What's the emergency?"
“I just found out from one of our men that Red sniper has an underground gang in this town. According to the locals, they have been present conducting their activities in the shadows for three years," he passed a tablet to me.
There was a blur image of a person leaning on a motorbike with a red sniper jacket. The same skull and crossed raffle symbol that was left at the scene of my brother's death matched with the wears jacket.
My body steamed up as my blood boiled from the sight of the symbol.
“What else? Have you been able to track this person down?" I asked, holding on to the tablet with a breaking force.
“Mario," Collins called my name when he noticed I had broken the screen. “We haven't gotten any leads yet. But I believe with proper investigation we will be able to find a loop or two."
“Whatever it is, I want you to find this bastard. He has to suffer for what he had done to my brother," I grumbled feeling nothing but hatred towards my brother's killer.
“I will. There is a biker gang we are investigating at the moment. If I get any information on them then I will let you know," Collins mentioned.
A hiss turned our attention to the kitchen. Natalie leaned on the counter rubbing her feet which she had stumbled on the cabinet.
She looked up at me, glared then smiled at Collins.
“Hello, Collins. It's been three years since we last saw each other. You look good and healthier," she said, joining us at the lounge.
“It's my pleasure to see you again, Miss Natalie. You look more energetic and beautiful now," he praised her and my left index finger twitched.
“Oh please, don't flatter me. I look more different than normal." She pointed at her inked neck. A snake tattoo crawling around a sword.
Naturally, tattoos like that she make a person look intimidating. But my sunshine looked like an adorable rebel.
“Stop looking at me like that!" she snapped at me.
“Like how?" I mused, enjoying the annoyance on her face.
“Like I am the last crumble cookie in your cookie jar."
“You are my last crumble cookie, sunshine," I teased and she scowled at me while mixing a cup of coffee for herself.
“I am getting out of here. And for the curfew, I want it banned. Tonight is an all night bar sale. I have to be present at the bar and make sure everything goes well," she said even when she knew I won't agree to her stupid request.
“The curfew remains the same, Natalie. If you break it then you will face the consequences," I sternly muttered.
“I am not asking for your permission, Mario. I am only telling you because I am not going to be here tonight," she argued with a firm voice.
She walked out before I could counter her words. I creaked the wine glass in my hand subconsciously out of annoyance. She turned the table with just a simple argument and I ended up being the one pissed.
“Should I make plans for tonight? Natalie doesn't seem like she will listen to you over her business," Collin stated as a matter of fact. He wasn't even trying to pacify me.
“Are you being serious right now?" I glared at him and he shrugged his shoulders.
“It is about time you accept that she has changed. The Natalie of the past is not the same as the present one you see. Anyways, I will tell the boys what to do in preparation for the issue at hand. Call me if you need anything." He patted my shoulder and left as he came.
I know that I hurt her in the past but it was for a good reason. Of course, I am in no place to say such a thing. But that doesn't mean I haven't thought about her for those f*****g three years of her absence.
No one knows this but those times I couldn't see her or even perceive the sweet scent of her made me feel like I was in hell. That period, I realized what depressed felt like.
Now that I have found her, the obsession I had for her multiplied. The only thing I want is for her to be in my space, where I can see her, touch her and make her realize that there no other option than to be mine.
Even if she continues to be stubborn. I will continue to bend her, break every wings she has and prevent her from reaching the sky. If I have to destroy her to keep her with me then I will go through any length to make sure she remains ruined for as long as I can breathe.
She is mine. Mine.
“Tell Collins to send some men to the bar. I want ever angle secured," I instructed one of my men standing guard at the door.
Nothing is going to slip past my eyes and that includes Natalie. She will f*****g beg for me to own her sooner or later.
