1991. After obtaining my national diploma in accountancy from auchi polytechnic auchi, then Bendel state. The opportunity to leave the country became more solid as my parent was seriously against my first attempt after obtaining my west africa school certificate, insisting that i must attend higher institution of learning here in nigeria before i will be allowed to travel to anywhere even though its not them that was taking care of the expenses. Visa application from three different embassy were rejected with $2000 cash at hand, sent to me by an elder brother to find my way to anywhere in the world. Being in lagos now for over two months and the money was fast going down, no hope for visa and i was left with no option than to look for another alternative that will get me out of the country before the money get burnt out as i am not sure of getting any cash again if i cant make it out. With $700, they agreed to get me a Republic of Benin passport that was visa free to italy, UK, Germany etc. Also included in the package is an excursion return ticket and taking care of boarding the aircraft in lagos airport. Although my passport photograph was in the Benin republic international passport but not enough to pass normal immigration check. According to the Alitalia ticket, the departure date was on the 25th of november 1991. Within the remaining two weeks before the date, i was adviced by a very close friend to seek for spiritual help in other to prevent any immigration problem i will face at the point of entry in finicino international airport in Rome. With the help of his uncle, he was able to get me an address of an old spiritualist in Benin city. Having a week left to departure date, i travelled to benin and i located the old spiritual guru who i was told was a pro in travelling with fake passport. He looked at me and told i was in italy already, that i should not bother about any thing. He requested to see my passport and ticket which i humbly gave him and after some incartation, asked me surprisingly what i was going to do in europe, that there is nothing for me in europe. Cant this passport take me to America, canada or Asia country? No i said, it is not visa free to those countries and i added immediately that i like europe, he should just do something that will give me an easy entry into Rome. Well if you say so, it is just that i cant see anything good for you in europe, he replied. Yes you will have problem with your passport at the point of entry in Rome airport but dont worry i will change to an old itallian immigration and will let you in. Is that not what you want? Yes i answear swiftly. After three days with him in Benin, he said i can go as he has finish his work, i should make sure l board the plane on the date in the ticket, that he will see me in Roma finicino international airport on the 26th morning, when ask how much is my bill, he laugh and told me it is free, but you know my address, send me anything within your power when you finally arrived in your destination. Thanks a million i said and i will never forget if everything goes on well. On arriving back to lagos, i had three days more to taking off, so i decided to do three days fasting and prayer because of my fake passport. November 25th, 6pm, i was in the airport already waing for my lagos island contact to come and board me in the aircraft that was schedule for 9,30pm take off to Rome in italy.
