"Are you truly going to save Edward?" Jane asked, praying it wasn't just some game.
Nicole glanced at her watch. "Spain is no longer safe, and Edwards' testimony will harm us if we are to keep our heads low in the states for some time. The woman offering her help to us will offer us protection."
Jane furrowed her brows; she had wracked her head but couldn't seem to think of any lady who wanted different situations for Elaine and Alexander and what her motivations might be.
