Jane threw a quick glance at Edward; his hands on the steering wheel were gripped so hard, his knuckles were white as paper. She cleared her throat. "You are upset about something."
"First, at the wedding, he happened to be there when Elaine ran out, then he was invited to the company, and now I am slowly erased out of the picture. My board suspension is still on; I can't manipulate Elaine to have me installed as the next CEO, and I am being thrown around like their servant by Alexander!"
Jane snickered, "You offered to 'help.'"
"No! I only said that because typical Elaine wouldn't want the attention to fall only on her. To appear as her equal, she would attend major events with me. I should be the one heading to New York with her, not Alexander. He ruined everything."
