My eyes gently fluttered open as I was unsure I heard right.
"Alexander," I softly called out and realized it was just me in the car.
I swallowed in fright. When he reported, "She's awake."
A familiar voice replied to him through his loudspeakers, "Take care of her for me. She's my step-daughter, but she hates referring to me as her mother."
Nicole, that snake! She was the one behind all this. Alexander wouldn't have handed me right to her; he must have been tricked.
"Once the truck is done with her, have Javier finish up with him. I heard he was coming for her like a madman. The truck should perhaps slow him down, don't you think?"
