Elaine My sharp heels clicked on the floor as I walked into the living room, fairly familiar with the outlook of the home. I have been invited a couple of times in my past life. Jane and I appeared close, and Nicole did regard me as her daughter, but that was all a facade. I found out bitterly in the end. "I heard my name. What are you discussing?" Nicole stuttered upon seeing me; her demeanor dropped as she least expected I would visit. "Elaine? What are you doing here?" I smiled brightly at them. "Have you forgotten, Nicole, or should I call you Mother? You invited me to dinner; it would be ill-mannered for me to leave without paying respect to my late father's mistress. You have always been kind to me." Nicole reddened in embarrassment at my choice of word, but she rather smiled it
