Present Day
Marco walked into the jail and went through the protocol. He’d never done it before, but Ella had given him the rundown so many times in the past, and even though she assumed he hadn’t been listening, he had. So he knew exactly what to do, what was going to happen, and when. He went with the flow, until he was sitting at a table in a large room surrounded by other visitors all waiting for the criminals to fill the room.
Marco had spent one horrible night in jail, and it was more than enough. He couldn’t imagine spending the last eight years behind bars. He didn’t want to have sympathy for his father, not after the s**t he did, but sitting here, he was having a hard time holding onto the anger.
