Aubrey walked into the office after being out for a week. She thought she’d be happy to go home and get back into the swing of things, but she was far from happy. She missed Marco. When she left Willow Cove, it was like her entire heart was ripped from her chest and left in the small-town.
She had to leave, though. Her life was here in Boston, and Marco’s was in Willow Cove. They could never make it work, and she was a fool to think they could. She was going to have to leave eventually, so when he’d walked out on her, he’d made it easier for her to pick up and go.
