The Move
"Madelyn! Madelyn! If you don't get up right this second!" My mother screaming from downstairs.
Ugh I hate mornings I thought as I lazily get off my bed, "big head mom say to get up" my annoying twin brother said barging in my room. "I'm up M.J" making my way to our bathroom. Why do we have to move anyways we are doing so fine here, mom has a work at home job, dad is an great boxer at the league stadium, Marcus just won our school's tournament in basketball and I just got the stupid football coach to realize I'm great for the team, I groaned making my way downstairs.
"May are you finishing packing, your dad is 30 minutes away with the moving truck" mom said packing the last of the kitchen boxes. "Yes mom I finished last night while I was talking to Asiah" I said resting my head on the kitchen bar.
"How is she, I haven't seen her since Monday "
"She-" as I about to answer raising my head Asiah walked in "I'm good Mrs. J" she said with a fake smile. Let me tell you a little about Asiah, she's my best friend since we were four, she loves to read, you can't see her no where without a book or her tablet. She is a smart, quiet type of girl, have you ever heard the saying silent but deadly that describes her, she's shy but don't get on her bad she side. One time she broke a boy nose when he told everyone he bedded with her if you know what I mean but now my boo is going through a tuff time and just when I'm moving away sigh.
"I'm glad you are sweetheart and how is your mother I know it's been hard with the divor-"
"Mom!" I whispered- yell coming back to reality.
" No it's ok Maddy but she's doing better Mrs. J" she lowly said
"I'm sorry darling I know what your father did was unspeakable but you both will be great when you stick together and although we are moving you can call me anytime, I will happily pick up. Ok?" Mom insured hugging a my now crying best friend. Just as everything got back to normal we heard a honking outside "honey go get ready your dad's here" mom said pulling away from Asiah .
Taking Asiah wrist and pulling her to follow me upstairs, while Marcus is walking down the stairs but stop concerned "Hey Agi, why are you cr-"
"don't worry I got it" I annoyingly said walking in my room closing the door when we both inside.
"Babe I know you don't want talking much right now I get it but please don't hold in your feelings" I advice walking to my bed to get my clothes.
"I know May but its to much right now and with everything you're moving. I just feel abandoned and lonely." she cried again, looking at my friend I just wish I can stay but I can't and I'm sad because of that, I wish I can do more. "I'm not abandoning you and you are not alone you have me, my mom, Marcus, your mom and even your mysterious boyfriend" I smiled know it would make her a little better mentioning him.
"He's not mysterious May you know that" she blushed wiping her tears
"And thank you for being here for me"
"Of course, why won't I be" looking my looking myself after putting on my clothes
"You look good but why the sweats"
"Thanks but I'm not in the mood for jeans plus it's Saturday and I'm moving so sweats it is".
After talking we moved my boxes downstairs so my dad can pack it in the truck just as all the furniture, I say goodbyes to Asiah and our house but this won't be our last meeting, well for Asiah at least. Dad drives off while I wave to my forever best friend watching as you make her way to her house a few houses after my now old home.
