Chapter Two

1089 Words
Arielle’s POV I walked around with half-soaked clothes the whole day. I went to the toilet to clean myself but I couldn’t get all the paint out from my clothes and hair, so I had to walk around while freezing the whole day. After my classes were over, I picked up my notebook and headed to my locker. I still couldn’t get the thought that I was mated to three men out of my head. I opened it up and placed the books inside before I locked it. It was the only place I could keep my books safe because at home, the rats could eat them up and I didn’t want to walk around with them in school and risk Alisha or any other bully destroying them. No one was going to give me their notes to copy. My head was cast low as I walked in the hallways to the door, but a scent caught my attention. I raised my head and saw the three men that I saw when I was getting bullied staring at me. The fluttering feeling I was feeling since morning increased and I didn’t know if it was from something else or because they were so attractive, but I bowed my head back and headed out. They might be worse than Alisha for all I knew. I got out of school and followed the secret passageway that takes me back to the palace. I didn’t like following it in the morning because Alisha followed it with her car and she wouldn’t think twice before splashing dirty water on me while I walked on the sidelines. I saw a cat on the sidewalks and that made me smile. It was my birthday that I have been looking forward to all my life. I was going to spend the day with my younger sister, who was the Luna’s personal maid. She begged to have the day off so we could go out to the woods and have some fun. I reminded myself to not spoil my mood over anyone because they were not worth it. When I got to the pack house, I got in through the kitchen and then stood by the door as I tried to mind-link her to come downstairs. I did it once and she broke it off. I tried again, and the same thing happened. It seemed strange. She never broke our mind- link, because she knew we only had each other. My best option was to go upstairs, but I was scared because I knew if someone saw me then they were going to hurt me. But, it is worth the risk. She would do the same thing for me too if she sensed that I was in the slightest trouble. I let out a shaky breath before I headed upstairs. I was by the threshold of the Luna’s room when I heard yells coming from there. “You stupid disgusting Omega. I am going to kill you today and guess what will happen if I do?” she yells, and I heard my sister yelp out in pain. “Nothing will happen because you are worthless. No one is going to come and save you.” “I am sorry, please. I shouldn’t have done that.” My sister cried. A pang settled in the pit of my stomach. I wanted to go in there so badly and stop her from hurting my sister but I knew that I was only going to make matters worse. I turned around to leave but a voice stopped me in my tracks. “Hey, girl. How dare you eavesdrop on the Luna?” I turned around and saw a guard rushing towards me. I turned around to run away but he, unfortunately, got a hold of me before I could head for the stairs. “Please let me go,” I begged him, but he was already dragging me to the Luna’s room. When we got there, he threw me on the floor and I fell near my sister who was crying her eyes out. “I found this kid eavesdropping on you.” He points an accusing finger at me. “No, I wasn’t,” I said in my defense, but the Luna pounced on me before I could utter another word. She hit me on my face and I fell on the ground. The pain radiated all over my head. She crouched down to my level and dragged my head up with my hair and leveled it to her face. Her eyes looked like they were filled with fire. She looked raged, and I suddenly wished that I didn’t come upstairs, to begin with. “Who sent you here, you imbecile?” She yelled in my face. “No one. I just came here to get my sister.” I muffled out because my mouth was with blood “You are lying. This isn’t your sister. You look nothing alike. Tell me or you are going to be dead meat tonight you stupid Omega!” She threatened. “I am telling you the truth…” I started to say but she punched me in my jaw again and I fell to the ground. I usually stayed out of her way and mostly got treated badly by the warriors and Betas. Getting in trouble with the Luna was worse than I imagined it to be. My mouth filled with blood, and a sob escaped my lips. “Take her down to the dungeon, guard,” she stood up to her feet. “Torture her until she tells you who asked her to come here and spy on me.” She was being ridiculous and paranoid. The guard picked me up and I was crying, kicking, and screaming for him to let me go, but he didn’t. He pinned me down on his shoulder as he took me underground to where the dungeon was. Once we got to the terrifying dungeon, he opened up one of the cells and threw me inside before he locked it up. He brought his face close up and smirked. “I will come back for you, kid.” He said before he left. I was screaming for him to come back, but he locked the door without even looking back. I fell to the ground and hugged my knees to my chest as I sobbed into my hands. My wolf, Talia tried to comfort me but I shut her out. Happy birthday to me…
