Jax POV
after taking a few more hits of Mark's joint on my break to make sure Max keeps his cool. the rest of the shift was uneventful. aside from some stolen glances Macy and I shared, we for the most part focused on work.
Macy says goodbye over her shoulder as she locks the cafe door. Ben and Lee head to their respective cars while I wait for Macy. she turns and sees me standing behind her. she looks up at me as if waiting for me to say something.
" can I walk you to your car?" I asked, as I smile down at her.
" if you must." she replies, nonchalantly.
she heads to the side of the building where her car is parked, and I follow close behind stealing a glance of that voluptuous ass of hers.
when she reaches her car she turns to face me.
" well this is it, you've done your good deed for the day you're dismissed." she says, looking up at me with a toothy grin.
I chuckle at her and as if on Instinct I graze her cheek softly with the back of my fingers and lean close to her ear. I can hear her heart start to race and her breath becomes shallow.
" I'm looking forward to our date tomorrow, drive safe shorty." I say in a low husky voice.
I quickly step back leaving her with her eyes closed and before she can open them I start to walk away and head to my truck. with my back to her I hear her yell to me.
" ITS NOT A DATE!"
I don't look back, instead I continue walking away waving my hands in the air as if saying goodbye. I hear her scoff and I chuckle. "This is going to be fun." I comment to Max.
Macy POV
after sending a message to Blake and Tim that I'm on my way home, my mind starts reeling.
ughh! that man is annoying. I should not have agreed to hang out with him. what the hell was I thinking? I can't deny that my body seems to Crave his touch and closeness, but why?! I have never been like that with anyone. it feels like I'm losing control of myself.
I was caught off guard, it won't happen again. I have dealt with gym rats like him before. who spend every waking moment at the gym flexing in the mirror thinking they're God's gift to women.
normally I wouldn't give a guy like that the time of day. but he set the challenge, and I sure as hell am not going to be the one to back down.
I pull up to the house and see Blake and Tim waiting outside for me.
I walk over to them. " Hey guys." I say, my mind still reeling from the nights events.
"What's up Macy?" Tim greets, while following me to the back of the house.
I open the storm door and head down the stairs, turning all the lights on. the guys take their respective seats on the couch. I walk straight to my room, close the door and change out of my work clothes into sweatpants and a t-shirt.
I walk back out and take a seat on my computer chair.
" rough close?" Blake asks, while he is rolling a blunt.
" no, the close was good." I reply, looking at my computer for some music to play.
" so.. why do you look like you're about to spit nails?" Tim asks
I sigh heavily as I grab a hair tie off my desk and pull my hair up into a high messy bun.
"The new guy." I state, dryly.
"Ha! that bad?" Blake chuckles, holding the lighter to the tip of the blunt to light it.
" no, he is a hard worker. focused and followed my directions." I shrug.
" so what's the problem?" Blake coughs out as he blows the smoke out of his mouth and passes the blunt to me.
I take a hit, and hold it in for a few seconds then blow it out. starting to feel the effects I lean back into my chair and reply.
" he asked me to hang out tomorrow."
there's a pause and I look between the two of them as they smirk at each other.
" so he asked you out on a date?" Blake says, wagging his eyebrows at me.
"Its not a date!" I bark at him.
Blake holds his hands up in surrender, with a look on his face that says he is not buying what I'm selling.
I roll my eyes and lean forward to pass the blunt to Tim as he asks.
" so what will you be doing on your non-date?"
a mischievous smile graces my face when I say,
" he wants to go shoot pool."
Blake bursts into laughter and Tim starts to choke on the smoke from the hit he just took. I start to laugh at their reactions.
" I'm sure he thinks he will have the upper hand while we're playing pool and has me bent over a pool table, showing me a thing or two." I say sarcastically.
" so, he doesn't know you can play?" he asks, with his eyebrows raised.
"Nope."
playing pool with something I've done at a very young age I grew up with a pool table in my house. I'm better than most if I do say so myself. when I turned 21 and started frequenting local bars there was almost always a pool table there. guys would offer to show me how to play. I would pretend I had no idea how to even hold a stick. at some point they would want to make a bet. sometimes the stakes would be to buy a drink or take me out on a date or they would bet money.
once the steaks were raised I would show them they made a horrible mistake. I would run the table on them and collect my winnings. they were always blindsided. I stopped making it a habit when one drunk guy that I hustled got crazy pissed and threatened my life.
"HA HA! you gonna steal his money Macy?" Blake Laughs.
" No, but I may hold back my true potential in case I need it later." I reply with a wink.
" I wish I could be a fly on the wall for this date!" Tim chuckles.
"ITS NOT A DATE!" I snap at him.
Tim shakes his head and passes the blunt back to Blake.
" Whatever you say Mace."
i scoff at him and turn back to my computer, annoyed with my friends for the moment.
I'm sure Jax is just looking to get into my pants, most guys like him are the hit it and quit it type. but it takes more than a rock hard body to earn my time and attention. he thinks he can change my mind? we will see about that. I don't plan on making it easy for him. he is in for a bumpy ride.
*****************************************
the guys left a bit ago and I'm just cleaning up my place I grab a garbage bag and head to the door to take it out.
heading to the side of the house to where the garbage cans are, I look up and see the moon. I sigh and think to myself maybe I'm being too hard on Jax.. maybe he really does want to get to know me.. I dropped the bag in the garbage can. I shake my head. no no no don't do this to yourself macy! not again! how many times do you have to get burned to realize a man's hands is not a safe place to keep your heart.
I make my way back to my basement and head to my room. I just need some sleep. we will see what happens tomorrow.
