I haven’t been optimistic about reconnecting with Brian, but the news that he had returned to the country sent a surge of panic through my veins. I couldn’t shake off the fear that he might try to take Kayla away or disrupt the peaceful life they had built together. Today at work, I was barely productive or excited about the new designs I had decided to incorporate into my new collection. I had walked into work quite happy today since my morning had gone pretty well with Kayla and I.
