Chapter 1: Has Fu Jingzhou Kissed You Like This?
"Xiangcheng."
Inside a quiet and elegant café.
A soft and slightly chilly voice broke the silence.
"Let's get married."
In a corner by the window, the woman's appearance was rare in the world, her fair and delicate fingers holding a spoon, gently stirring the coffee in her cup.
Her long feathery eyelashes were half-lowered, casting a faint shadow on her eyelids.
The man opposite her had features as radiant as the moon in the sky and as pure as snow in the mountains. His jet-black eyes showed a subtle hint of surprise upon hearing those words, but it vanished in an instant, leaving no trace.
He wore casual luxury attire, with his long legs casually crossed, leaning against the booth, watching the woman across from him with great interest.
Hearing her words, he responded with a faint hint of mock annoyance.
His cold and thin lips curved into a smile with a deep meaning.
"Marriage?" His slender and even fingertips lightly tapped the table, his tone casual. "Between you and me?"
Su Wanci looked up at him, her red lips slightly closed. "Yes."
Lu Yu twirled his fingers, a smile seemingly playing at the corners of his eyes and lips. Instead of asking why she chose him, he calmly stated, under Su Wanci's gaze:
"Miss Su, the entire Xiangcheng knows that I, Lu Yu, am notorious for being unscrupulous. Marrying me wouldn't be a superficial plastic marriage."
Su Wanci fell silent for a moment, her lips tightening at the corners.
Lu Yu observed her reaction and let out a light chuckle, neither too serious nor too carefree.
Without saying a word, he got up and walked away.
A slight twitch appeared between Su Wanci's eyebrows. As Lu Yu walked out of the café, she hurriedly followed.
In the corridor, she grabbed the corner of his coat.
He stopped in his tracks.
Just as Su Wanci was about to speak, the man suddenly turned around, trapping her wrists and pinning her against the corridor wall.
In the next moment, he leaned in.
Amidst the woman's surprised gaze, he kissed her fiercely, his lips locking onto hers.
Su Wanci's eyes widened suddenly.
She instinctively tried to pull her wrists free, but his grip tightened even more.
The plunder between their lips and teeth grew even more audacious.
The air in their mouths, along with their lungfuls of breath, seemed to be almost squeezed dry. She held her breath, but he forced her to surrender inch by inch.
After a while, when Su Wanci's tongue felt numb, he finally released her.
Lu Yu held her waist in a firm embrace, his fingers caressing the slightly swollen corner of her lips. His pitch-black eyes were like an abyss, impenetrable and devoid of any light.
He licked his lips, as if not entirely satisfied.
His hand, still at her waist, held her tightly against him.
Bending down to look into her eyes, he asked each word deliberately:
"Has Fu Jingzhou ever kissed you like this?"
Gasping for breath, Su Wanci steadied her breathing.
Although she controlled her facial expressions well, the slight trembling of her lips betrayed her emotions.
Lu Yu persisted in seeking her answer.
Pressing his lips against hers, he kissed her again.
Su Wanci's entire body went soft, and a mist of water appeared in her eyes, breaking through her usual composure, revealing a hint of tenderness.
Lu Yu asked again, "Has he kissed you like this?"
Su Wanci turned her head slightly, her trembling lips forming a single word, "... No."
The man raised an eyebrow.
Holding her waist, he walked briskly outside.
Su Wanci's legs went weak, struggling to keep up with his steps. "Lu Yu."
The man glanced sideways, then bent down to scoop her up horizontally, striding out once more.
A wry smile played on his thin lips as he murmured, "Squeamish."
Suppressing the almost-squealed exclamation at the tip of her tongue, Su Wanci wrapped her arms around his neck and, with a somewhat probing expression, began, "You..."
However, just as she began speaking, she heard the deep voice of the man above her head, "Did you bring your ID?"
She froze, unintentionally clenching her fingertips.
"I did."
Lu Yu placed her in the passenger seat of the Koenigsegg, then leaned over to fasten her seatbelt.
As he started the car, he dialed a number on his assistant's phone.
"Ten minutes. Bring the household registration book to the Civil Affairs Bureau."
With that said, he ended the call.
On the other end, his assistant, Chen Heng, wondered if his phone had been stolen.
Ten minutes later.
When Chen Heng saw the woman stepping out of the Koenigsegg at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau, he was so astonished that his mouth could have swallowed an egg.
Lu Yu tossed the car keys to Chen Heng, took the household registration book from his hands, and led Su Wanci into the Civil Affairs Bureau.
Fifteen minutes later, they emerged once again. Chen Heng had managed to calm down his nearly-exploding state of mind.
On the steps outside the entrance, Su Wanci looked at the two red books in Lu Yu's hands and asked, "Can you give me one of the marriage certificates?"
Lu Yu handed one to her, but when Su Wanci reached for it, he held onto the edge of the certificate, not letting go.
He looked into her eyes, a carefree smile playing on his lips. "Do you want to keep it for a divorce?"
Su Wanci pursed her lips, applying a bit more force to her grip as she pulled the marriage certificate from his hand.
She lowered her eyes and placed the certificate in her bag, her expression calm. "When Mr. Lu decides he wants a divorce in a while, just let me know."
Lu Yu let out a light scoff, his emotions seemingly undergoing a slight change.
While Su Wanci was busy retrieving her phone, she didn't see his expression, but she sensed that the aura around him had inexplicably turned colder.
Lu Yu tossed her a set of keys, his tone milder now. "Huating Manor, our marital home."
With that, without glancing at the woman beside him again, he took a step down the stairs, got into the car, and drove away.
