Xander remained well behaved that day and he listened to Jilla. This surprised the attendant, but she chalked it up to the grief that swallowed up the whole palace. She took Xander into the museum to keep him occupied, but he seemed uninterested in the exhibits. Nate, Cassielle, and Harold retired to her private office where they self-medicated with a full bottle of Marquit. There, they watched the broadcast made by LuHan announcing Kevin’s death. He informed the empire Kevin had been murdered by the rogue Federation agent Liana’a. Cassielle sighed deeply and shut the screen down after the name was released. She poured each of them another drink. They left the office when an attendant announced third meal. No one spoke much during the meal and Nate picked at his food. He finally gave up
