"Hmm. It's been a week since she turned to a devil. She should be hungry by now." Asura said to no one in particular as she poking on Nadia's cheek. "Maybe.. just maybe my blood could trigger her desire to drink." She bit on her own finger and spread the blood all over her nose and mouth. "Wake up sleepy head. How many more days you're going to sleep on my bed? You're the only servants I allowed to do so you know. You should be kissing my foot by now." A knock on the door forbid Asura to continue her play time with Nadia. "What is it Agramon?" She asked her loyal advisor and close friend. "She does not awaken yet?" Asura shakes her head. "Even after I present my own blood, she's not budging at all. Anyway, why are you here? I thought I told you to take care of Draven's training." "His training is done. I'm here to inform you that the king of the red, blue, white and black dragon is here. All four look as piss as ever. I told them that you will not see anyone today but they won't take no for an answer." Asura hates to deal with those four. "Send them here. I will not leave her side before she awakens. Its crucial that I'm the first demon she saw after she awakens." Agramon nodded and went to get the kings. Asura looked at Nadia. "Just how deep is your hatred towards humanity, Nadia?" Asura was curious. "I present to you, the four great dragon king." I watched as the red, black, white and blue king presenting themselves in front of me. "This is rather weird for us to be meeting in your chamber, Lady Asura." Said the black dragon king. "Ignore the current situation we're in and tell me what do you four great kings What from me." Asura didn't hide in the bushes at all when she said to tell her the truth of the meeting. "For thousands of year, after the 10th great wars between the heaven and the underworld occur, the dragons were agreed on controlling each continent of the human world You've given, isn't that right?" Asked the red dragon king. "Yes, I remembered. What's the problem?" Asura asked without looking up at the kings. "For several years now, your kind has been terrorizing our continent that we rule, Lady Asura. They kill, took and rape the humans under our control. This is not something we can accept at all!" The white dragon king was about to lose control of his anger. "Are you implying that I asked my kind to slowly invaded your continent? No sir, I will never do that to my own ally." Asura assured them. "If that's so meaning that someone has been betraying you, Lady Asura." The blue dragon king blurted out. "No one dares to oppose my orders." Suddenly I felt that the bed started to shake. "What's happening with that person?" Asked the white dragon king. Asura chuckled when she noticed Nadia's eyes are showing. "Those eyes, is she one of your pupils?" Asked the blue dragon king. "She's merely my new servant. Former human from the modern age era." Asura smirked when Nadia's bloodshot eyes turned to her. "How are you feeling?" Asura asked. Nadia doesn't know how to explain the feeling she has right now. All she cares about is the need to find something to make her thirst go away. "Water," Nadia said under her breath. Asura was appalled. She never witnesses an awakening this normal before. "Water? You didn't ask for blood? How weird is that." Agramon pours a glass of water for Nadia. "Drink up." Asura helped Nadia to drink. "What do you feel now that you've been reborn?" Asura asked the confused newly born devil. "Where am I? ... I know you. Your that woman from the alley." Asura was impressed she remembered it at all. "I am Asura Demonix, the next head of the house of Demonix, the only devil family that received the title of Behemoth. I am its current title bearer." Nadia got herself up to a sitting position and touched her dizzy head. "Lady Asura, we're still here." The black dragon king cleared his throat. "I will find the truth about the things you claimed. Don't worry. Agramon will show you the way out." The four great kings were glad and bow their head to their superior. "Why am I here?" Nadia asked when she's alone with the mysterious woman. "You were stabbed repeatedly and died right in front of me. I took you here, to my home. It's stupid of you to protect me with your body. You died instantly." Asura lied. She felt grateful that someone did stand up for her. "I don't know. All I know is that I need to protect someone in trouble." Nadia shaking her head while looking around the room. "Where am I?" Asura smiled. "My chamber. Your sitting, laying on my bed for a week now." Nadia's eyes were all over Asura half naked body. "Did... you... lay next to me?" Asura looked down on her attire. "Well, it is my bed after all. I have my right to sleep on it." Asked noticed her newborn devil has been looking at her neck. "Oh... are you hungry? You may bite me if you want. But I need to warn you, once you consume my blood, you and I, we will have a contract." "Contract?" Nadia asked. "Yes of course. A contract means you will be my servant for eternity. There will never be a dull moment in your life anymore." Nadia was taken aback when Asura's eyes shown its original color. "Did my eyes frightened you? Don't be. All servants under the name of Demonix has the same eye color as mine. Yours will after you complete the transitioning." Asura showed Nadia her face on the mirror. "See, blood red, this is the first stage of becoming a devil." Nadia was shocked. She doesn't know how to react to this. "Actually everything will change. Your lifestyles, culture, even profession will change." Nadia can't register what she's hearing right now. "What? Being a killer?" Asura laughed at Nadia's outburst. "A killer? Oh no. We're not that low to do all those things. We're not a killer by intention. It's by orders we received." Nadia looked at her pale hands. "Why? Why didn't you let me die in the alley? I was hoping to be dead for years now." Asura stood up and begin to strip her lingerie in front of Nadia. Asura looks over the shoulder and winked at the newborn demon. "I'll explain everything when I'm done with my shower. Be grateful I save you from the brink of death. Don't defy me if you want to live as my servant." Asura opened the door towards her bathroom and leave Nadia alone on the bed. *** "House of Demonix is one of the high ranking devil family in the underworld. From my ancestor and until this very moment, no other family in the underworld held the title Behemoth. And it will stay that way. I think." Asura explained a bit of this and that to Nadia. "Now I have to follow your orders to live? Seems like my life hasn't changed after I'm dead too." Asura was curious about that. "Do you mean your life as a human slave towards your bosses? Unlike a human, we devil prepared extra for our servants. Such as benefits package, insurance if the servants suffer some type of injury or sudden death experience." Nadia couldn't process any of that information at all. "So basically there's life insurance for us servants under the name of the Demonix Family?" Asura nodded. "You know, I was worried you might throw a tantrum. I mean, I did just transform you into a devil. I never expected it will be this easy." Nadia let his head now. "I don't see why I have to miss being alive and living as who I am before. I am a failure." Asura suddenly laughed in front of a double door. "I like that hatred in your voice. Hate, bloodlust, dark desire, those are the feelings devils eat for dessert. It feeds us to be greater. But then again, with the proper connection, you will not succeed as well." Asura pushed the door and let the newborn devil walked in first. Nadia couldn't see anything inside the pitch black room. "Like I said, you're just transitioning to a demon. Your eyes aren't that use to see in the dark yet. Someone turn on the lights please." Asura's voice echoes. In a matter of seconds, the room was lit and Nadia was surprised to see 12 people sitting at a long table. "Meet my children." Nadia can't believe that this beautiful woman gave birth to 12 kids already! "Seriously? Adopted right?" Nadia blurted out. Asura was impressed by the boldness Nadia has when she claimed her kids are adopted. "No. I gave birth to them. All 12 of them. Draven here is the youngest." Asura picked up a 5-year-old devil from the floor. "Meet the new servant, Nadia." Nadia took a step back when all eyes were on her. All of them inherited Asura's black-red eyes. "Mother, she's a human." Said one of the seated devils. "Was. She was." Asura took her seat at the very end of the table. Nadia doesn't know the drill to where she should go. When she noticed somebody was sitting on the floor while being chained, she followed the gesture and it was funny in Asura's eyes. "What are you doing?" She asked the newborn. "Well, I see your children have servants on their knees and being chained like that, I thought I should be doing the same." Asura shaking her head. "No. Those are the slaves. Not servants. A servant does what butlers and maids do like in the human world. Slaves, they're pets. In their cases, they did something wrong towards my kids and now they serve their life as pets." Asura explained. "For you, it's different. You stupidly covered my body with yours and died doing so. Your place is beside me, accompany me to any soirée, die for me again and again. That's all." Nadia stood up from the floor and stand beside Asura. "Where's your husband?" Nadia asked and that made everyone on the dining table uncomfortable. "My husband? ... oh you mean the father of the kids. Hmmm... I wonder where he is." "He left us." Said one of Asura's son. "He let mother alone while having Draven. We tried to stop him but he won't stay by her side. Draven was born without his presence unlike the rest of us." Said the only daughter. Nadia noticed it's hard to talk about this matter. She curses herself when she opened her mouth and asked such question earlier. "I'm sorry for opening my mouth. I know the feeling of being abandoned." Nadia bows her head low in front of Asura and her kids. "Mother are you sure she's just awakening? She doesn't seem rough like the rest of the servants you turned. Every single one of them died, killed by either us or our mother, did you know that?" Nadia shakes her head. "Why were they killed?" Nadia was curious. "They showed some rebellious action towards me. Humans who turned to devils always ended up being killed by their master. I'm not sure how to see the future with you though. You seem normal as if you were born as a devil in the first place." Asura was intrigued to know more about Nadia's past. "Maybe we could learn something if we check her brains out." Said the daughter. "I already did that. I found nothing but sadness and sorrow in her life. There's nothing that could explain this matter to me. But, maybe the witch will know." Nadia was shocked at the revelation. "There's a witch? It exists?" Nadia asked. "Of course. There's a lot of creatures living among the humans in your former world. We're one of those creatures, the devil." Asura smiled. "After this, we shall meet the witch in her lair." *** "What's your name .... my lady." Nadia choked when Asura's daughter glared at her with her creepy pitch black-red eyes. "Caia. My name is Caia." Caia followed her mother's footsteps. "My name is Asura." Asura introduced herself. "I just realized I haven't introduced myself to you but you asked my daughter's. How ungrateful are you?" Asura was pretending to be upset. Nadia was worried she might anger her Master. They arrived at the witches lair after they walked through the portal Asura summoned. Asura knocked on the door for a couple of times before a middle age woman opened the door for them. "Lady Asura." Asura smiled and the woman opened the door for them. "Mara expected us," Asura stated. Nadia thought that the middle age woman was the witch. "Of course, I'll inform her your arrival. Please, make yourself at home." The middle age woman bow before disappearing at the door. Nadia looked around the room. It looks like a normal medieval home she always sees in movies before. But she knows she shouldn't judge the book by its cover. "Asura! It's been such a long time!!" Nadia was shocked when a little girl ran towards Asura. "Mara! Likewise. You've ... grown." Asura said with a hint of ... uncertainty. "You know I don't age. I've been living in this body for 400 years. Anyway, is this the former human?" Mara suddenly staring at Nadia. "Hmm.." The witch was circling Nadia for a couple of times. "Why would someone of your caliber be transforming this weakling of a former human to be a devil?" Mara was straightforward. Nadia feels the tug she always felt when she was a human. "Hmmm. Because when she was a human, she protected me. Unlike most devil, they avoid anyone who threatened me and let me deal with it myself." Mara leaned back and stopped in front of Nadia. She motioned for Nadia to kneel in front of her. "You have potential but, what is that power inside you. I can feel them. And your not even being violence like most of Asura's part devil. I wonder." Mara circling Nadia again and looked at her nape. "Hmm.." Mara literally tore off Nadia's shirt and let everyone to see her back. "I found the source of her hatred." Mara was delighted. "Whoa." Caia looked away from looking at Nadia's back. Nadia picked up her torn shirt and use her hands moving towards the nearest wall. "Don't ... don't look at me." Nadia was horrified. Asura grabbed on Nadia's neck and lifted her up from the floor. She looked at the severe scar on her newborn's back. "I didn't notice it at all," Asura mumbled while slowly placing Nadia on the floor. Nadia's leg betrayed her and she sat on the floor, unable to feel anything. Not even sad or mad. She's expressionless. "What kind of human would even do that to another human?" Caia asked no one in particular. "We've seen worse but on demons or any other supernatural beings. To a human, that's rare. Even for us." Asura sighed. "Honey, give Nadia your jacket. She seems cold." Caia did as told and gave Nadia her jacket. "There's no doubt she's special, right?" Mara nodded. "She's different. Lots different from the others. You probably won't have to kill her like the others." Mara crouch and looked up to Nadia. "Do you know where you are right now?" Mara asked. Nadia shakes her head. "1718, I've traveled to the modern word once or twice before. It was fun. But somehow I ended up in an orphanage every time I went there." Mara shrugged. Nadia chuckled. "It's the policy. You can't travel to the modern world without a guardian. Wait, the modern world? This means I'm in ..." "Medieval times." Mara beamed. "I was born and raised here. You basically went back in time." Mara faces Asura. "What is your real purpose here? It's about time isn't it." Asura placed a bag of gold on the table. "This is your fee for today. We now know what we're searching for." Ashes smiled and summoned a portal back to her place. Mara waved her hands at Asura and the others. When Nadia walked through the portal, she felt her body as if it's floating in the air but when her foot landed on the familiar room, she looked around. "This is your room," Nadia said. Caia kissed her mother goodbye and leave the room. "You will be staying here with me from now on." Asura stayed while she went to sit on the couch and turned on the television. "May I be blunt?" Nadia asked for permission. "Of course "Where are we?" She asked the demon. "Currently we're in your world. The human world. Your era." Asura said while searching for some show to watch. Nadia went to the windows and opened the curtains. When's the sun rays hit her cold skin, she feel the serenity she wanted for so long even when she was alive. "You mentioned I was dead a week before?" Nadia asked. "Yes." Asura simply replied. "So, what happened to my apartment?" Nadia needs to know. "Abandoned, I guess. I was planning to renovate the whole building and make it yours. Why? You want to pick up your things?" Nadia nodded. "You don't have to renovate anything. That apartment should be burn. Hold on, what about my job?" Nadia asked. "Well, I'm not sure. Wanna visit it and see how they take it?" Nadia slowly nodded. "Alright then. Since the television doesn't have anything good to watch, I mean seriously, what's the point of paying all those bills." Asura sighed. "Let's visit your old workplace and then your home." Asura smiled. "This will be such a fun experience." Asura beamed.
