Chapter 11
Several weeks passed since the incident in the burning of the field and Andersen’s visit to the plantation. As nothing had transpired as a result, Theodore had been able to calm Seth’s fears to some extent. But nonetheless, Theodore was convinced a story must be in place to protect Edgar and Seth should it ever be needed. As it turned out, it was needed sooner than anyone might have guessed.
Theodore, Seth, and Edgar were sitting on the veranda having breakfast. Julian came out to where the men were seated. He bent and whispered in Theodore’s ear.
“It appears we have official guests from the Royal Navy,” Theodore told the others.
