Cold sweat
Soft humming from the fan blade had kept her staring at the ceiling mindlessly. Her eyelids fluttered begging for rest, she blinked a few times in response while still focusing on that particular sound. Occasionally, wind gushing through the space in between the window panels.
Will it rain tonight? She glanced at the clock just above the window frame.
12.30 AM
Dried leaves trembled and fall off from the swaying branches and accumulated at the window sill. The curtain fluttered lightly in response to the strong wind outside which enabled her to see the growing stack of fallen leaves. Her vision started to blur out as her eyelids begin to close shut.
…...................................................................
Bump
"Aw.." May rubbed her elbow after hitting a hard structure that lie very close to her. Continuos creaking sound erupted as she moves in process. She immediately stop. Opening her eyes, she was greeted with a familiar area. She quickly sit up, confused that she woke up next to a dining table.
Why am I at the dining room? She turned to an ebony grandfather clock standing at the corner a meter away from the table set.
7.00 AM
Upstairs, someone twisted a door knob and the door thud opened and closed afterward. She heard footsteps towards the bathroom at the end of the hallway. She scratched her head needlessly and pulled herself to go upstairs for her room. The stairs softly creaked almost inaudible at some point. She turned to her left to reach for the knob. But there was nothing. She looked up at the flat wall with no sign of room was ever built there.
WTF is this mind trick
She hit her head frustratingly. Sound of the toilet being flushed, followed by a grip at the door knob which was going to swing anytime to reveal the person using the bathroom. Allen, a 13 years old boy walked sluggishly toward his room. He stand put when he noticed someone standing near the staircase.
"Hey, Allen. Can you help me knock some sense? Am I dreaming?! Everything is so freaking weird!" May interjected when she saw Allen closing by.
He rubbed his eyes
"WHAT THE HELL! WHO ARE YOU? How..how..ARGHH ARGHH!!! Mom! Dad!" Allen shakily point his fingers toward May who was a few feet away. He was screaming like he just saw a ghost.
"What.." Her voice was interrupted with loud shuffling and panicking voices behind the door next to Allen's room.
Her mother was the first to open the door followed suit by her father trying to understand the situation and their screaming son.
They both looked at her direction. She hesitantly raised both of her arms, dumbfounded at what just happened.
"What?" She responded.
"Who are you? How did you get into our house? I am going to call the police! Stay right there, do not attempt anything funny." Both of her parents acted strangely. His father slowly walked back into the room while keeping a close eye on May meanwhile her mother relaxes her panic brother and hide him behind her.
"Mom, Allen what is happening?" She is trying to get closer to them.
"Stay! Stay there! How..how..did you know his name? Honey, be quick. Call the police." Her mother was seen slightly shaken. She moved nearer to the door keeping Allen close to her.
"Allen, do you know her?" Her mother turned to his brother asking him softly but he only shook his head in response.
Her father came out again with his phone, dialling the police.
"Wait, why are you calling police? I am your daughter, May. Am I dreaming? What is happening?" She felt herself breaking into cold sweat.
Just WTH is happening
"We have no daughter, how did you get inside here? Who are you?" Her father sternly said.
Now she was extremely scared and confused. They repeated the same question for many time. She pinched herself.
It definitely hurts. Who am I?
What happened?
