Chapter 35 Within the room, Reed screamed in anger, slamming his head repeatedly on the wall. He was beyond frustrated and angry. Everytime he was with Luciana, they always seemed to argue and quarrel which left him feeling frustrated. ''Why do we have to argue and fight every damn time? Its annoying.'' Reed sighed. He gripped a part of his hair, pulling it in apparent frustration. There was nothing he could think of that could point him to why exactly he and Luciana fought almost every time. Reed sighed, looking out of the window as he watched Luciana get into her car. The car drove away, bypassing smaller cars that were on the road. She was angry, that much was certain. The way she drove told him that she was still angry and might be for a long time. ''I've got to get out of here and think about the next thing to do.'' Reed said. He left the room hurriedly, throwing the key card to the receptionist who was startled by his sudden appearance. She knew he was angry and there was really no need for her to tell him what she had in her mind. ''I'll be back soon. Clean up the room.'' Reed ordered. ''Yes sir.'' the receptionist said. Reed practically ran towards his car, jumping in as he made his way towards his home. He needed to think about where all of this was heading too. He loved Luciana, that much was certain but at times, he was always left confused on whether he was doing the right thing by being with her. ''What do I do about this?'' he murmured. Traffic that morning was very light and he loved it. It would only get him home faster than he expected which at that moment was what he wanted. He got home soon in record time and upon the guards seeing his face right from the gate, they knew better than to talk to him. He was in a very foul mood and it was evident in the way he walked and his general mannerism. Reed stalked towards his room, slamming the door behind him shut. He placed his phone on the table before pulling off his shirt. There were many things he hated in his life and the first and most important was arguments, especially with the woman he loved. ''What do i do?'' Reed murmured. Just then, his phone gave a sharp beep which indicated he had a call. Glancing at the caller ID, Reed discovered it was his friend. He smiled because this was the exact moment he needed this call. ''Hey man.'' Reed sighed. ''Okay Reed, what's that tone in your voice.'' Jason chuckled. ''Remember that woman i told you robbed the bank a few weeks ago?'' Reed said. Jason remained silent as he casted his mind back to the conversation he had with him. He could vividly remember Reed telling him about it. Even at the time, he found it odd that a woman would be the gangleader of a sect as deadly as that. ''Yes, i remember.'' Jason said. ''Well, i had s*x with her.'' Reed deadpanned. ''What the actual f**k!'' Jason shouted. That was not what he was expecting at all. He knew Reed was bold, that much was certain but this, this was borderline crazy. Did he even know this woman very well? ''I know… i know.'' Reed laughed. ''You no what? I'm coming over. This is not a conversation for phone.'' Jonas said. ''Alright man, i'm home.'' Reed laughed. Jason cut off the phone. Reed, who knew he would be here faster than he could say his name, made his way downstairs and towards the garden where they could have some privacy and a lot of fresh air. Jason was a mad man when he was on the road, the way he jumped traffic without ever being caught was still a surprise to Reed even up till this day. In twenty minutes flat, Jason was driving into Reed's compound. Jason, who had seen his friend even from a distance, parked his bugatti at the side of the road. He climbed out before walking towards Reed who sat within the gardens. ''Hey man.'' Reed said, slapping his back in a friendly manner. Jason smiled before taking the chair that faced him. He appeared healthier than Reed remembered which was a good thing. Jason was a chainsmoker and to see him looking healthier only told Reed that he had finally stopped which was good in all indications. ''Hey. Man, you look so well.'' Reed smiled. He was genuinely happy to see his friend this way. Smoking and drinking almost ruined him and to see him looking this happier and healthier was a breath of fresh air. ''I know. Thanks to you, I finally gave up the life of smoking and drinking. Man, i can't thank you enough.'' Reed smiled. ''I'm glad I could help. What kind of a friend would i be if i don't talk you out of that life. I know we all smoke and drink but it should be in moderation. You were practically a chimney then.'' Reed laughed. ''Very funny. How's your father now? Is he getting any better?'' Jonas asked. He pulled down his bucket hat, using it to wipe the perspiration on his brows. The weather was rather hot that day. Reed sighed because he didn't quite know how to tell him this. His father's health status was rapidly deteriorating and there was really nothing anyone could do but hope and pray that he recovers fully. ''He's bad Jonas and i mean very bad.'' Reed said. ''Oh s**t!'' ''Yeah man.'' Reed sighed. ''I believe he'll recover. Just keep up hope.'' ''Thanks.'' They stayed in comfortable silence for a while, each with their own thoughts. ''So this girl, who is she? You know what, start from the very beginning.'' Jonas said. ''Remember that bank robbery we went for sometimes ago?'' Reed said. ''Yeah man, I do. It was a crazy experience right?'' Jason laughed. ''You have no idea. So anyway, I met this woman there and she was the leader of the sect. Turns out that this woman's name is Luciana. Luciana Andreas.'' ''Wait! Hold on, hold the f**k on. I've heard that name before but I can't damn remember where. oh my gosh… oh my gosh, now I do. Man, you have to back down and i mean this very minute.'' Jonas said. There was an agitated look on his face as he rose up to his feet. He paced about, gripping his hair in apparent fear. Reed had never seen him look this way before. Nothing ever shook Jonas and if he was feeling this way, it could only mean that this was more serious than he thought which sent fear into his heart. ''Tell me what you know man and i mean everything.'' Reed said. He wanted to know everything there was to the woman he had fallen in love with. He knew quite alright she was very dangerous but he had a feeling that she was actually more than that. ''This woman actually eats men alive, she's very tough and very dangerous. Do you know how many men she has killed?'' Jonas said. At that moment, Reed was feeling uncomfortable because he didn't expect Luciana to be like this. He knew quite alright that Luciana was dangerous but he didn't think she was this worse. There were many things he expected of her but not this. ''Are you serious right now?'' Reed asked. ''Do you expect me to be joking with this kind of thing?'' Jason asked. ''Oh man… i'm in love with her.'' Reed said. ''Then you have successfully compounded your problem and what did you say earlier… you slept with her?'' Jonas said. ''It was the best s*x of my life.'' Reed said. ''Are you even listening to yourself? Oh man, you're completely gone.'' Jonas said. ''Well, i like that.'' Reed said with a far away look in his eyes. Jonas walked towards a shelf where some bottles of water were kept. He took one and unscrewed the cap before dunking the contents on Reed. The latter screamed out in panic, rising to his feet. His men around him c****d their guns, aiming it at Jonas who stood there with a defiant look in his eyes. He wasn't scared of what they would do because this was completely normal. Reed ordered them to stand down. The last thing he wanted was for this to turn into a mini war just because Jonas wanted to get some sense into his head. ''I think sense has returned to you now right?'' Jonas said, rolling his eyes. ''Yeah man but that i still love and that ain't gonna change.'' Reed said. Jonas sighed because he knew now that it was a hopeless situation. His friend was completely gone and what they had to work on now was how to avoid him getting killed because he was convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that that was what Luciana was aiming for. ''She told me a whole lot of things man and it will interest you to know that she's actually on my side. She doesn't want any of this. As a matter of fact, she hates this way as much as i do.'' Reed said. He squeezed a corner of his shirt all in a bid to make it dry. The water really drenched him badly and he realized he actually deserved it because he was far too gone. Luciana did things to him, things that he knew he would never forget in such a hurry. ''Are you serious right now?'' Jonas asked. ''Damn serious man.'' Reed said. ''Then I guess that's a good thing. I actually thought she was against you but knowing this now just put my heart at rest.'' Jonas smiled. ''Yeah… yeah but after dunking a whole bottle of water on me.'' Reed said, rolling his eyes. ''It was to make you wake up. So how is she? Are the stories about her true?'' Jonas asked. ''To be honest, she's the sweetest person you would ever meet. Yes, she has this tough exterior but when you get to talk and stay with her for a bit, you'll get to see how sweet she actually is.'' Reed smiled. ''Oh man, you are really drunk in love. You're a goner.'' Jonas laughed. ''I am and i really can't wait for you to meet her.'' ''I'll pass for now. I'm not ready to die.'' Jonas laughed. ''Scaredy dog.'' Breed murmured. ''So what do you call her because i know you can't call her by her name for fear of people knowing what you're up to.'' Reed stayed quiet for a while as the image of Luciana popped up in his head. She was very beautiful and down to earth. ''I call her Diabla.'' Reed said finally.
