Chapter 7            John walked towards Anabel with a cup of something hot. “Good morning or shall I say afternoon.” He half-smiled.            “I thought this was another one of those dreams and I would wake up in my bed.” She complained, taking the cup from him. “Thanks.” She said taking a drink.            He frowned at her, he wanted to tell her she was still dreaming, but she wasn’t. She needed to know this is going to get rough. “No afraid not. We have to go and see another Elder; they are making room for us in another realm, another fresh start world for you.” He said            Anabel couldn’t wait to go home; she wanted to be back to her normal life. Even if he said it was a different realm she didn’t care as long as it was just like her world. “But what about my life where I’m from?” she said. “What about Dremis?”            John shook his head, “It’s a world he doesn’t even know about, one he’s not allowed to travel to.” He said. “You’ll be safe, and your life will be almost the same that you had before.”            Anabel shrugged her shoulders, “Alright I guess that’s better than nothing. So will my dreams stop too?” she asked.            “Eventually, but you will have them for a while. You still do not know how to deal with what you went through. That takes a lot of time and patience, but your boyfriend, friends, and family all know who you are, and you know who they are.” He explained. “But you cannot talk about what you went through to anyone, otherwise it opens up things, and the demons will find you again.”            Anabel took another drink, shaking her head. “What kind of things?” she asked.            “Bad things.” He said shaking his head. “Let’s go, it’s just a small walk down the path.”            Anabel and John walked the short distance through the forest, deer, and other creatures nearby. The air smelled of flowers and fresh-cut grass. “I could stay here.” She said looking around, she would love it there.            “Yes, you could, but you would die lonely, you would not find a mate and continue life.” He said over his shoulder. “Plus I know you’d probably love this new world. Not so much sadness. You will adjust well.”            Anabel rolled her eyes, she wasn’t sure what she could expect, and if her boyfriend really wouldn’t be the same. She knew her life ended when she died and came back. She felt disconnected.            Aiden greeted them at the door. “Ah, you’ve arrived. Nice to see you again Anabel.” He said gesturing for them to come inside the small cottage. Anabel smiled at him as she walked past him. “So are you ready to go home?”            “I guess, I mean it’s not my home, but I’ll make the best of it as long as I don’t have to worry about Dremis.” She said sitting down, the cottage was a small little room, there was a pot cooking on the fire, bread sat on the table nearby.            “So all you have to do is a spell, and boom the portal opens and you’ll walk right through. We have you set up like you were in your world, but you don’t have the same job.” He said. “Find a new one; the last one nearly killed you.” He winked at her.            “Okay.” She said taking the piece of paper he handed her. “So I guess this is goodbye then?” Anabel stood up. “Is there a special place I have to be to do this?” she said looking around the room.            John shook his head, “Nope, you can do it here in the center of the cottage, but I’d suggest you do this outside. Lots of wind.” He said pointing towards the door.            “Well okay, it was nice knowing you, John. Take care.” She said kissing him on his cheek, before walking out the front door. The two men followed her but stayed back. She spoke the words and the portal appeared. Anabel looked back one last time before she stepped through it.            Anabel blinked and she was standing in her apartment, the sliding glass door was fixed and it was daytime. She looked around, her apartment looked the same, and it felt the same. She held her breath as she walked through the rest of the apartment, everything was hers. “Thank God, I feel at home.” She said sitting down on the loveseat near the sliding glass door.            The phone rang, startling Anabel out of her mind. “Hello?” she answered.            A moment of silence made it uneasy for Anabel, “Hey Anabel I’m coming home tomorrow!” Mike said on the other end.            “Mike?” she cried into the phone. “It’s so nice to hear your voice.” She said squeezing the phone to her ear.            “I just saw you yesterday, babe do I need to come home?” he asked concerned.            “Oh no, I’m okay. I just had some weird dreams last night, and you were the first voice I prayed to hear.” She said. “So tomorrow then?”            “Yep, the meetings today should be interesting, but we made a big sale. So expect to move out of that small apartment we have and think BIG!” he yelled in the phone in excitement.            “Oh really? That’s just great.” She said looking down at the floor. “Are we staying in the state or moving?”            “Same state, just upper scale and you don’t have to go to work. I want you to stay home and write or something.” He said. “I want to take you to a nice dinner maybe Saturday night?”            “Alright, we can do something like that.” She smiled. “I’m going to go for a walk and take some pictures or something.” She said twirling the phone cord. “Can you call me later before you go to bed to fill me in on the rest of your day?”            “Yeah, of course, go enjoy the sunlight, winters coming and I know you hate that kind of weather.” Mike snorted in the phone.            Anabel rolled her eyes, “Haha funny, I will. I love you.” She said before hanging up the phone. She thought a moment about what she just said to him. It seemed so easy and natural and it felt right. She didn’t have to work, so she could go and do what she always wanted to do. Photography.            Grabbing her camera, she walked out her front door and headed down to the park she knew about. The short walk was nice, she felt calm. A light breeze tickled her neck, she smiled at the sensation.            “Anabel!” a familiar voice called. She twisted around to the voice. Misty her best friend from Norway stood there. Her red hair shined in the sunlight, her brown eyes like green portals. “Where you been?”            Anabel shook her head, “What do you mean where have I been? You’ve been in Norway silly girl.” Anabel said running up to Misty.             Misty shook her head at Anabel. “There’s something different about you?” Misty questioned. “You’ve been somewhere you weren’t supposed to go? Is that why you are glowing? Or maybe Mike finally got you pregnant?”            Anabel waved off what her friend thought, “Na Mike got a big promotion or something, and said we’ll be moving out of the apartment. I’m excited.” Anabel said taking out her camera and taking a photo of Misty.            Misty put her hand put to block the photo Anabel was trying to take off her. “Ah man stop that, you know I hate that.” She said batting at the camera. “So you're going to be a famous photo person?”            Anabel twirled around, “maybe. I hope so.” She said taking a couple of photos of some flowers on their way to the dirt path to the stream. Anabel turned around quickly taking a few more shots of Misty.
