Chapter 1
A very heavy breeze was passing through a beautiful yellow morning. The smell of this old forest spread, taking up abundance of land. And right there in the middle of it all stopped a cute little red Mercedes. Anna was here yet again to meet her father. She, on the other hand, walked out of her car, smiling as her dimples went in. Her beautiful brown eyes were sparkling. She then pushed her long black hair behind her shoulders, walking out in a cute little sundress. In her hand there were beautiful white lilies. Anna was there to see her father's grave, talk to him, because she missed him.
Walked out of there, she reached the cemetery where her father was kept. Anna looked around only to see a few people here and there. It was early in the morning after all but she walked right to the top of the hill where she saw a grave, all black and all marble. She quickly walked up to where he was resting peacefully.
"Happy Birthday dad." Anna whispered, sitting down and placing his favourite flowers. Ahe felt at peace coming here. And slowly she started to clean up the dry leaves and beautiful flowers that fell on top of him.
"Today is finally Ruth's wedding dad. It's huge in the house and that's why she couldn't come to see you." Anna said, trying to justify justify for Ruth. Like she always did every year. But a few times she would pull her sister, bring her here and if it wasn't for Anna, it would never have been possible.
"I just wanted you to bless her, help bring some common sense to her, she is lacking a little." Anna said, smiling softly while looking around the place as the son was rising higher, and everything becoming more beautiful and bright. More and more people were coming in as well.
"I wish you were here. Things are so different though. But still very nice and sweet, but mom is still angry with the world for taking you away from her. I can understand that. Ruth is still the same but just irritated very fast, makes decisions so fast and then gets angry if something goes wrong." She let out, exhausted now.
"I feel like I'm the only one taking care of both of them," She whispered. Finally, speaking the truth from her heart to her father, letting out a lot of emotion as they started to flow away.
"I miss you too dad, I don't really have anyone to say this too. I really wish you were here." She said, feeling the pain in her chest. Nevertheless, she sat there, really understanding there was not going to be any answer from her father and it hurt her spirit, but it was the reality and at least she was ready to accept, this.
However, this small moment was interrupted as her phone started to ring. She pulled it out only to see it was Ruth.
"Hello."
"Where are you, Anna?. You are my bridesmaid but you are not here," Ruth said.
"It's 7 in the morning, you don't even wake up this early." She said.
"I didn't ask you for an explanation. And what part of maid don't you understand?" Ruth said.
"And what part of never to call me that again, don't you know?" Anna spoke, irritated. Whenever she said that word, especially in public, Anna would feel so insulted.
"You know I am joking Anna, you are my sister. I don't consider you my maid. But the name has the word in it, just let the joke happen." Ruth said and Anna very badly wanted to roll her eyes, but she didn't.
"Where are you? I will come to you." She said and there was a gulp in Anna's throat.
She looked at her father's grave.
"I am with dad," Anna said, and there was a sudden pause on the other side.
"Do you want to come............"
"Not at my wedding, I don't want to cry on my wedding." Ruth said almost immediately.
"I know you are judging me, please don't......."
"Ruth, I am not judging you." This time Anna spoke almost immediately.
"Okay then, just come home and also........... say hi to him from me." Ruth said, and the pain in her voice was heard clearly. Anna couldn't explain either, but Ruth missed her father, but she had never learned how to have a human and have a reaction to it. She didn't even have sympathy for herself.
Ruth then cut the call on her like she always did. However, for a few seconds there Anna just sat, realizing that right now she was simply talking to a stone. A stone couldn't get sad over this conversation, but there was always a part of her the couldn't help but think that her father was listening to her, or was at least he was happy that his daughter was getting married. Slowly Anna stood up, staring at the man she loved all her life.
"By dad, I love you." Anna whispered softly, having a hard time saying good bye as always, but right at that moment came every sharp breeze, it forcefully pushed her hair out of her face. It was very warm and she liked that feeling. Nevertheless, it was time to go, and so she turned around, walking away from there. Anna was already exhausted.
.....................................................................................................................................................................................................................
"The wedding is in a few hours. What is everyone doing? This is a mess." Rebecca, Anna's mother screams while the interior designers and the wedding planner are also screaming in different parts of the large mansion garden. Beautiful white flowers were hanging from every tree, it was mostly white in all directions. Chandeliers, lights and it was a beauty all around. Rebecca turned around when she heard the clicking of heels and there she saw Anna and immediately her eyes went wide open in happiness.
"You are back, great. Now go be with your sister, my love. She is making everyone crazy." She said, making Anna smile shortly.
"Yes, and if I go she will kill me. I am the easiest target for her." Anna told her the truth.
"Your sister is not going to hurt you." She said as Rebecca stopped and thought about all the times Ruth emotionally did hurt Anna.
"This is for your own good Anna, once she is marriage she is out of here." Rebecca let out, joking with his daughter and slowly pushing her hair behind her ears.
"Please, Anna. One last time." She said. Anna so badly wanted to roll her eyes but she could understand her mother's frustration too, and so she nodded her head and spun around, walking back into the warm mansion, the house her father made for all of them.
Quickly she walked right past multiple people and servants around, as they were taking care of everything in the house.
Anna ran up to stairs trying not to fall. She was very clumsy like that and the only one in the house to fall anywhere.
Within no time, Anna was right in front of the biggest room of the mansion. Ruth wanted the room and she got it. She slowly pushed the door open and saw Ruth's college friends, high school friends. And to everyone there she was giving a fake smile. Anna hated all of her friends and just because Anna was a wealthy person, they all tolerated her. But, right Anna saw her sister freshly shower and in her towel. She seemed a little irritated and frustrated and more than usual.
"Everyone leave the room." Ruth instructed, pushing them all out and none of them said anything because, apparently, she was the boss every time. Surprise, surprise. Two sisters now all alone. Ruth just looked so tired and she sat down on the bed, staying there for sometime.
"What happened?" Anna asked.
"And what are you going to do about it?" Ruth asked, staring at her little sister. That should have scared her, but it did not. Ruth always spoke like that.
"I can help however I can, but you have to talk to me.... nicely..." Anna spoke and Ruth let out a large half of irritation.
"Please don't tell me you don't want to get married again, you keep saying yes and then you keep saying no. You change your mind and say yes.." Anna let out.
"He is a f****** billionaire, of course I want to marry him. I do imagine my life as his wife." Ruth said, angry all of a sudden. This was too early in the morning for Anna and she had to sit down for that.
"Then what is the problem? You always wanted to marry someone like him," Anna said.
"I know, but it is all so arranged." Ruth said, confusing her sister.
"But you did not want to fall in love with anyone," Anna reminded her. And now Ruth was mad.
"Are you saying I am not lovable?" She asked, pissed off.
"I am saying, you have the ego of a lion." Ruth lost it right there. And stared her her, as if she was going to kill her.
"If you can't help me, then just get out." Ruth spit back.
"I am not leaving you." An said, sitting there strongly.
"What is the problem, just tell me?" Anna asked yet again. And this got Ruth thinking.
"I don't know, I mean I was perfectly fine last week but we both don't listen to each other. He has to do what he has to do. I mean, I said I wanted to go and honeymoon to Mauritius, and he said that he has lot of work, he cannot travel and had no time. he said he would book a flight for me and my friends." She let out.
"So what's problem. If you don't even want to spend time with him either." Anna reminded her yet again.
"But that is me. I can make a choice like that. Who is he?" She asked.
"A billionaire." Anna said softly under her breath, knowing this could get something thrown at her.
"1 minute I know this is going to be good, the next minute I am going to be someone's wife....... wife Anna." She said, scared now.
"Ruth everything is going as you wanted, you are getting to married the man you wanted to. Even though it was just arranged because of business. But what more do you want?." Anna was frustrated with her sister.
"I was running behind his money, I completely forgot that man cannot love anyone. He likes me because his father and he seen something in this companies coming together. Because of me our company is doing amazing, and he sees that and me." Ruth said, and laid down on her bed. She was so done as she went deep into all this.
"Ruth, don't over think about it," Anna said, getting up from her seat.
"Don't tell me what to do." Ruth spoke up. Anna did not take it to heart, she could understand her distress. Slowly, she laid in bed right next to her older sister, her family. But Ruth started to move away from Anna. She did not like people getting too close to her.
"It is not the end of the world, Ruth. It's just marriage. You will get to know him, he will do the same." She said, smiling.
"And what if he doesn't?" Ruth asked.
"It won't be so hard, but it won't be so easy either." Anna spoke, giving her the truth. And she was expecting her Ruth to say something, but she said nothing. She just stayed there, that was unusual. The entire room went quiet.
"You want a love like dad and mom, right?" Anna asked and quickly Ruth nodded. Anna then looked away from the ceiling and around the room as she slowly nodded her head. However, Ruth let out a small breath of pain.
"Don't count on it, that love comes in once in a lifetime and to very lucky people." Ruth said.
"For me it is a heartless billionaires to marry, and maybe for you just some random, artist person." Ruth said, this hurt Anna's feeling.
"I don't know when you will stop being mean to me." Anna said.
"I am not mean to you, I am being realistic." She let out. Suddenly Anna's phone started to buzz. her mother was texting her to come down. Anna was a little tired from all this travelling but knew this was a wedding house. And she got up quickly.
"I will be downstairs if you need anything," Anna said. However, Ruth did not respond, just laid staring at the ceiling Ruth in her mind were going through so much of what she wanted and what she did not. And this marriage was something she wasn't sure about. Her life was more than a deal, she needed the love she had seen all her life.
