CHAPTER 4

Happily Never After...

“Are you happy, baby?” Leon asked Lisa, as she cuddled with him, still in her wedding gown.

“Yes, you make me the happiest woman alive, Leon. I am so happy to call you my husband.” Lisa said and kissed him sweetly on the mouth.

Leon smiled and read the text from his ex-wife, Callie, happy that his plan had finally caught her attention.

He had pursued Lisa all along just so he could get the attention of his ex-wife. He figured that if she saw that he was chasing after another woman, then she would come back to him so he used Lisa as bait.

He got married to Lisa two weeks after he proposed and he had one of the biggest weddings in New York.

Lisa didn't feel bothered about this because she thought Leon wanted to show her off as his new wife and that he had moved on from Callie but Leon in fact did it to get Callie’s attention. He thought about it the next day after he had his security guard take Lisa away from his mansion after having s*x with her.

He has not gotten over his ex-wife and does not love Lisa. He was only physically attracted to her, as he was not pretending with the s*x part. She truly turned him on like no woman ever had but she was just bait to get his ex-wife and he had finally gotten her.

Lisa met with Erica for drinks in a Nobu Downtown restaurant but Erica did not look so happy.

“How are you, Lisa? How is marriage to the boss going?” she asked with resignation.

“Fine. It’s good.” Lisa replied dry eyed.

Erica looked at her and shook her head sadly. She knew Lisa was hurting because she must have heard the rumors too. “Lisa, you can tell me the truth. I got so worried about you with all the news going on and that was why I asked to see you.”

She took Lisa’s hands and squeezed them and Lisa blinked back tears and decided to tell Erica all that had been going on because she had no friend, or family to confide in and Leon had practically abandoned her.

“I had the most amazing honeymoon with Leon and even when we came, all was well. I noticed that his family members did not like me one bit and always called me Pauper, but I didn’t care because Leon told me that they would come around. The Phoenix’s always married someone with wealth and class so his marriage to her was new for them but they would get over it.” She sniffed.

Erica looked at Lisa sadly, she no longer looked bright eyed and excited. Her eyes were dull, as if the lights in them were turned off.

“I thought the bad treatment from his family would stop but it only got worse month after month and the sad part was that Leon never stood up for me. I have been banned from attending any family gathering or party so I would not embarrass them. As a matter of fact, Leon isn't always around and I am always home alone with the staff in that giant house. His mother said it fit me, as she sees me as nothing but one of the staff. I have no work to keep me busy, as you know, because Leon made me quit my job and I can just feel depression setting in.”

Erica realized that Lisa had spoken about a lot except the main issue. She decided not to push or tell Lisa what everyone had seen and known in the office.

She consoled Lisa until she decided that she had to go back home.

Lisa couldn’t believe her eyes as she stared at the report in her hand. She had been feeling funny for some days and decided to buy a pregnancy test kit after throwing up in the morning and to her utmost surprise, it was positive.

She decided to go to a random hospital to confirm, giving them a fake name so the news would not end up in the media and the result came back positive.

Lisa put her hand on her stomach and said, “Hello, little one. I am so glad you have come, so I won’t be so lonely, and I believe your arrival will make your father happy and he will stay at home more.”

She excitedly drove to Leon’s office to share the good news with him.

When Lisa entered the skyscraper that was the office building, she received curious glances and nervous ‘hellos’ from people and wondered what could be wrong. Maybe it is because she has not been to the office in many months.

She wanted to surprise Leon so she didn’t tell him she was coming. She entered the elevator and stopped at his office floor.

As Lisa walked close to Leon’s office, she heard moaning sounds, but she didn’t want to believe it. Telling herself that it must be from his television.

She opened the door and saw Leon and his ex-wife, Callie, thoroughly naked and having s*x on his office table.

Lisa placed her hand over her mouth but the crying sound escaped from her mouth catching their attention. They turned and saw her.

Leon was shocked to see her and wanted to stop but Callie stopped him and said, “Why stop now? Not when we are about to c*m, no way.”

He turned back and continued having s*x with his ex-wife while staring at her. Lisa placed her hand on her stomach and turned to head back to the house, crying.

So it was all true. The rumors on social media claimed that Leon was back together with his ex-wife but she didn’t believe them because Leon said it was all lies but now she had seen the truth with her own eyes.

“I am such a fool, what will I do now? The media was right, he was just using me.” she uttered in a broken voice.

She angrily strengthened her resolve and said, “I have to leave the evil Leon family and they will never know about my baby.

Lisa entered her car and headed to Leon’s mansion but nothing could ever prepare her for what awaited her back home.
