Night had fallen. It was a full moon that night with a few stars. I was a long distance away from the closest human settlement and I had no horse. No horses came this way except horses that belonged to people like me and my group of friends who thought it wise to storm mountains overflowing with dangerous creatures. Lucille could not carry me so far without breaking her king's verdict and risking her life further. She had done the most she could and I was grateful. The timing was not pleasant. I dashed my foot on a small rock, stumbling and breaking the skin on my left arm. I moved forward, visualizing the map my grandfather had made available to me the first time I made this journey.
