Evie’s POV
I opened up my laptop to browse my emails whilst Charlie went back to preparing our food in the kitchen.
He subtly asked me what Jaxon wanted from me. I know there is hostility there due to Jaxon taking an interest in me.
“So, what did Jaxon want?"
Not surprised by his question, "Uh nothing. He asked me to go for dinner with him today and I forgot to reply." I coolly said, as I read an email.
"Dinner?" He asked and I nodded, still reading.
"Does he not know that you are with me now?"
"Well, why would he? No one should have seen us and I haven't told anyone about us, like literally no one, not even Lauren and Ella!" Now turning my head to face him.
Charlie scoffed and rolled his eyes "Oh, the two gossips of the office!" Which really irritated me.
